MODELTOWN SHOOTOUT Basketball Tournament January 4, 5, & 6, 2019 at the Gwinn High School Girls - grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Boys - grades 3, 4, 5, 6 Requests for specific game 2mes cannot be accommodated and switching of playing 2me is not allowed. Deadline for entries and payment is December 20, 2018. Please be respeccul of this deadline. Teams may provide a volunteer to serve at the scorer s table for each game. Teams may consist of players from another grade; however the team will compete against the highest grade represented on the team. It is preferred that all team members are from the same school district. Teams must have numbered uniforms or shirts. A team roster must be submijed and only these members are eligible to play. A player can only be entered on one team. Please bring your own basketballs for warm ups. They will not be provided. Size 28.5 ball will be used for all games. Teams should be present at least ½ hour before their scheduled game with their line-up. Games may start up to 15 minutes early. Games will consist of two 16 minute halves with a running clock. Clock stops under two minutes of game and for free throws. Two 2meouts per half. There will be a 5 minute warm-up period and a 5 minute intermission. Warm-ups and intermission may vary to keep the tournament on schedule. Sudden death over2me will be played, if necessary. Each team will be given one 2meout. Any 2meouts remaining from regular play will not carry over to over2me. The championship games will not be double eliminauon. Pressing will be allowed in all grades for the last two minutes of the game. No team will be allowed to press if up by 15 or more points. The 3 rd and 4 th grade teams will shoot a 13 foot free throw and can jump over the line azer releasing the ball. No-3 point shots. All rules not covered above will be the same as those used by the MHSAA. Team expenses and liabili2es for player s injuries are not assumed by Gwinn Area Community Schools or the Booster Club. Any decision of the tournament director, referees, or commijee in charge is final and without appeal in case of disputes. Destruc2on of property by a member or members of a team shall disqualify that team and reimbursement of costs will be required. Any age bracket may be cancelled due to lack of registra2ons. Number of teams in each bracket will determine the type of play (i.e. pool or bracket). Spectators shall be respeccul of the players, coaches and officials or risk removal from premises.
