Southland Hockey SHA Annual Equipment Sale The Southland Hockey Association (SHA) is a non-profit organization that relies on community and corporate support to help us deliver a hockey program which keeps kids active, healthy as well an opportunity to be surrounded by positive leaders in our communities! Some of our costs associated with running a Minor Hockey Club include ice rental, equipment, registration advertising, and community events. It is important for us to offset these costs; your support allows SHA to keep expenses for our families and young athletes as low as possible. As part of the Hockey Calgary League, Southland Hockey represents an opportunity for athletes between the ages of 3 and 21 to participate in a team and develop their hockey skills. With your help and direction we can be innovative and responsive making your investment work for both you and the community. Did You Know Southland Hockey Association includes the communities of Bayview, Braeside, Canyon Meadows, Cedarbrae, Haysboro, Oakridge, Palliser, Pump Hill, Southwood, Woodbine and Woodlands! With well over 30 teams from Mighty Mites to Midget, over 100 Team and Coaching Dinners and Lunches take place each season. Our association plays in Up to 60 Out of Town Tournaments, booking travel and accommodation throughout Alberta, B.C., Saskatchewan and elsewhere. Each year our teams open over 30 seasonal bank accounts. All these teams purchase prizes, gifts, team swag and other items. Most teams run fundraising events like Pub Nights, Auctions, Draws, and Trip Giveaways. Equipment, skate maintenance, several skill and power skating clinics are purchased regularly. Most Southland Hockey Players and their families live active lifestyles, play other sports and frequently travel domestically and internationally.
