Benefiting the Ohio State Women s Hockey Team Sponsorship Package Guide
THE LEGACY The legacy and tradition of The Ohio State Women s Hockey team runs deep with pride. With 1999-2000 being the program s inaugural season, the team has brought women s hockey in Columbus to new heights over the past 15 years. The program has grown into a top contender in the country playing in the premier conference, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). Since women s hockey decided to have a national championship, 13 of the 14 champions hail from the WCHA. In the program s 15 year existence it has had two head coaches, Jackie Barto for the first 12 years and current coach, Nate Handrahan since 2011. One of the special things about our program is the diversity of the players. OSU affords us the opportunity to recruit players from all over Canada, United States, and even Europe allowing us to continually have one of the most diverse rosters in women s hockey. We have produced many high profile players over the course of the program s existence. Over the course we have produced 5 Olympians representing three countries, 4 All-Americans, and 5 Patty Kazmaier Top 10 Finalists among numerous conference award winners.

THE CLASSIC In the pursuit of excellence on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community, the Ohio State Women s Hockey team is looking to grow. As a result, the First Annual Golf Classic has been created with the purpose of providing an excellent opportunity to enjoy a great round of golf with family, friends and alumni while supporting The Ohio State Women s Hockey Team. With your support we can grow our program with the addition of a much needed Director of Hockey Operations position. Hopefully down the road we can create a new hockey arena for both the men s and women s programs with the help of the Golf Classic. The Classic will be played at the beautiful New Albany Links Club. This par 72 course sprawls across gently rolling hills covered with meandering creeks, mature trees, and native grasses and wetlands and features a numbers of ponds for players to avoid. This playable course presents a formidable challenge, but is accessible to both beginner and veteran players.
