GREAT START The Patriots (24-9) set the school record for wins in a season, eclipsing the previous mark of 21 that had been reached four times before but not since 2000-01. Mason matched the 2000-01 squad for fewest amount of games (27) to reach 20 wins. The Patriots also clinched their first winning season in A-10 play and first since in conference play since 2003-04 when still in the Colonial Athletic Association. The 11 league wins also tie the school record for conference wins and are their most since in 14 years. This marks their first winning season since 2003-04. They jumped out to a 13-3 mark for their best start in the Division I era, which dates to 1984-85. Mason s start matched the 1974-75 team that went 13-3 for the season. Mason began the season 10-2 for the first time since 1987-88. In addition, the 11 non-conference wins by this year s squad were the most since the 1987-88 season. Mason won a program-record 13 straight home games before falling to Fordham on Jan. 28.
