Inclement Weather Policy on Water Park Closing The Clubs of Kingwood is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of all its Members. It is in that spirit the following safety rules apply to our water park: Rain The water park will remain open in rain unless it rains hard enough that the guards can not see the bottom of the pools. Thunder & Lightning The water park will close immediately in the case of thunder and/or lightning and will reopen at the discretion of the Head Lifeguard. We follow the National Safety Lightning Institute and the American Red Cross recommendation of a 20-minute wait before allowing Members back into the water. In conditions of local lightning, Members will be asked to leave the Water park and wait indoors. Due to the unpredictability of Houston weather we will do our best to judge when a pool closure is necessary and when we may safely reopen. We will do our best to keep pool closures to a minimum, but may need to close and reopen the water park several times in a day. Please be patient with us as we keep your family's safety in mind. During a temporary pool closing we invite our Members to step inside the Fitness Center. Shop in our retail shop, bring your children into our Kids Club (appropriate dress required), or enjoy a snack at our Deli while you wait. Our Lifeguards will let you know when it is safe to go back outside. You may leave your phone number at the welcome desk and we will be happy to call you when the water park reopens. Our welcome desk number is 281-348-2205. Have a Wonderful and Safe Summer! Last Updated on 12/11/14 11
