CATTLE OFFERING FOR SALE NETWORK SALE OF LOAD LOTS DATE: Thursday, October 4th, 2018 Time: 10:00 A.M. E.S.T HODGE LIVESTOCK OFFICE, NEWPORT, TENNESSEE (423) 487-3478 I WELCOME 1. Selected seller and buyer customers of stocker and feeder cattle are welcomed to the competitive network market of load lots fully described in the attached sheets. 2. Effective communications are employed by the use of videotapes conference telephone hook-ups and personal contacts by the Network Contractors to establish and maintain the competitive determination of prices. 3. Hodge Livestock Network, Inc. is the merchandiser in all Network market transactions. II DESCRIPTION, SALE AND DELIVERY 1. Those cattle offered for sale are indicated on the sale sheets by owner; described by lot numbers, location, numbers of head, estimated weight, management practice applied, delivery date, conditions of sale and delivery; and with the name and telephone number of the Network Contractor. 2. One load of stocker and feeder cattle consists of approximately 47,000 pounds. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT GUARAN- TEE ANY MINIMUM WEIGHT. 3. Voice bids by auction are asked and taken by telephone and in person with each lot of cattle sold to the highest bidder on the basis of estimated weight. Announcements by the auctioneer are governing in all instances where contrary to the written information on the Cattle Offering for Sale sheets. 4. The Seller reserves the right no sale the load lots of his cattle at the time the highest bid is made, in which event the highest and last bidder will receive $1.00 per head from the Merchandiser. 5. Cattle sold will be sorted and delivered to the stated weigh point by the Seller, weighed and received by the successful bidder as the Buyer, all under conditions as stated with respect to each lot. 6. The sale base weights will be as posted in the catalog or announced during the sale. Please pay attention to the slide. The slide will be posted for each lot of cattle but if the cattle are 51# to 75# over base weight the slide will increase by $1.00/cwt, if the cattle are 76# or more over the base weight the slide will increase $2.00/cwt otherwise the slide will remain as stated in the catalog. 7. Cattle not picked up during designated delivery dates will automatically have a 2#/head/day increase in the base weight. 8. Hodge Livestock Network acts as agents only in the sale of lots of cattle. Due to circumstances we cannot control, we as the marketing agency cannot guarantee 8% or less shrink on cattle. Any weight guarantees must be given by consignor, not Hodge Livestock Network. 9. Due to circumstances beyond our control Hodge Livestock Network cannot or does not guarantee off truck weights. III CONTRACTS FOR SALE AND PURCHASE 1. All cattle being offered for sale are under standard Contracts for Sale by the Merchandiser. 2. All cattle are purchased under standard Contracts for Purchase by the Buyers with the Merchandiser. 3. The bank of the Merchandiser used in all Network sales and purchased transactions is: Hodge Livestock Network, Inc, Custodial Account #4917-4, Commercial Bank, 37821. Routing # 064202983 4. A uniform schedule of charges for selling, buying and buyer services has been filed and published by the Merchandiser which is governing in all transactions where such services are performed. 5. In Honor of Millard Braswell March 5, 1929 - September 18, 2018 Born March 5, 1929 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Ralph Millard Braswell and the late Louise Gordy Braswell. Millard graduated from high school in 1947 at Peacock Military Academy in San Antonio, TX, where he was a member of the Monkey Drill Equestrian Team, attended California Poly Tech Institute from 1947-1948, and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He served his country in the Naval Reserves from 1947-1949. Millard began employment as a working cowboy in Wyoming, Texas, Kentucky, and Georgia from 1945-1950. In 1950 he founded R.M. Braswell Jr. Cattle Company, Inc. where he worked for over 65 years in cattle production and feedlot management, as well as all phases of cattle buying and marketing. National Geographic Magazine once featured Millard on its cover as an acrobatic young cavalryman. A long-time member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Millard and his wife Doris taught the Pioneer Children s Fellowship Group for many years at their farm. Additionally they hosted a multitude of Christian ministry groups from the University of Georgia and church fellowship groups throughout the Athens area. Among numerous professional memberships and affiliations, Millard was a member of the Board of Directors of the American National Cattlemen Association, president of the Georgia Livestock Association (1966-1967), director of the Gold Kist Livestock Association (1969-1970), and was named Outstanding Young Farmer of Georgia in 1956. Millard was a contractor for Wilson Livestock Network from the start. He was a true Cowboy and outstanding Gentleman.
