Here s the info: Track Day booking Sunday 21 st October, 2018 Gates, Café and Administration Sign-on from 7.30am All drivers/passengers must present at sign-on their Competition Licence (minimum requirement CAMS L2S) Licence Required:- DRIVERS: Drivers who do not present a valid Competition Licence will be required to purchase the MDTC Track Licence $50.00 (valid 12 months). Any junior participant driving aged 14 and under 16 years, must have a parent/instructor (with valid CAMS L2S) in the vehicle at all times on track. Junior participants must have either a CAMS Junior Licence or will have to purchase the MDTC Track Licence as per above details. Junior drivers aged between 14 and 16 years of age will only be permitted to drive in the junior group. PASSENGERS: Passengers under the age of 18 are not permitted. HELMETS: Passengers who cannot present a valid Competition Licence must will be required to purchase the MDTC Day Licence $30.00. Passengers will need to pay an additional $30.00 passenger fee to WSCC. Helmets must be worn at all times on track. A limited supply of helmets are available to hire at MDTC. Hire cost is $20.00 per helmet. A $50.00 CASH ONLY deposit is required with helmet hire and is returned on return of helmet. Deposits by Eftpos or Credit Card are NOT accepted. $20.00 Helmet Hire fee can be paid by either Cash or Card. 2
DRIVERS BRIEFING: A COMPUSLORY drivers briefing will commence at 8.40am sharp at the base of the race control tower. All drivers participating on track must be at the briefing. ON-TRACK ACTIVITIES: Drivers will be placed in groups depending on their level of experience and vehicle type. This will be arranged at sign-on. Round 8 NSW Mantic Clutch Hillclimb Championships 15th &16th September 2018. Hectic start to the weekend with setting up for practice to start at 12pm. With most of the entrants lining up in 30 degree heat. Race day wasn't as nice in the morning until around 10am which ended up being a terrific day. With a field of 47 competitors that travelled near and far and great mix of cars. With only four runs the hill saw some pretty quick times. Doug Barry FTD, Wayne Penrose fastest Tin Top and a new record, Garry Ford congratulations guys, and all the competitors on a great weekend. Which brings the state championships to an end for 2018. Hope to see you all in 2019. I would especially like to thank Chris Bergner and all his family at Wollongong Auto Supplies for your continued support and sponsorship you've given to wollongong sporting car club. Working Bee There will be a working bee on the Saturday the weekend before each Hillclimb, prior to the hillclimb. The hillclimbs don t go ahead without this essential work. If you could come out and help do a bit of gardening with a chainsaw, brush cutter, lawn mower, whipper snipper your help would be much appreciated. Start at 9am, stay for half hour or whatever you can manage. We are normally finished by midday. Do we have your email address? If you re receiving this newsletter by regular post and have an email address can you please provide it to us. Sending an automated email is much more convenient and cheaper. 2018 Club Championships The various championships are listed below. If you wish to have your points counted for non-wscc events you need to contact the club captain Greg Jones to let him know you attended. Club Champion: Receive one point for every motorsport related event you attend. Working bees, meetings, spectating, driving or officiating. Drivers Champion: Receive one point for every event you attend as a driver. Road Registered Champion: 6, 4, 2 points for 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd in class in a road registered vehicle. (At Huntley multiclub events only). A single point may be added by club captain for best presented. Champion of Huntley Pointscore: Points accrued vary depending on the number of cars in class. A maximum of 5 points for first in class if 5 or more competitors. Max points for second is 4 and so on. Key Battery Service has been a perennial supporter of Huntley Hillclimb. All of our power for the PA and timing systems comes from batteries loaned to us at no cost. We would be lost without their support. Membership You will need a current club membership card to compete in events and renew your CAMS Licence. If you re renewing then you have 3 options Pay in person at the next general meeting. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION Wollongong Sporting Car Club is one of the oldest cams affiliated car clubs in Australia. Our members compete in all forms of speed events, ranging from hillclimbs, lap dashes and supersprints to all levels of circuit racing throughout Australia. These events cater for all levels of competition, from the club event with classes for standard and *modified road cars right up to international level touring cars and open wheeler races. So whatever your interest in motorsport, be it as a driver, event official or social member, this could be the club for you. New membership applications are always welcomed.
