MOST PHOTOGENIC AWARD REGIONALS ONLY 12 & under & 13 & over ANY GENRE All entries must submit a recent photo no larger than 8 x 10 (20 x 25 metric), labelled with name, age, address, phone number and studio name on the back. All photos must be submitted on the FIRST DAY OF COMPETITION to the registration desk at least one-hour prior to the start of the MOVE! Competition together with a R200 entry fee per photo entered, in cash or an EFT proof of payment slip. The photo must be of only one person. A PHOTOGENIC CONTESTANT must be a registered competitor in the competition and may register more than one photo. For each Regional competition, there will be one Junior Most Photogenic winner (age 12 & under) and one Senior Most Photogenic winner (age 13 & above). These awards will be presented to the contestants judged to be most photogenic based on the photographs that they enter, on the following criteria: Visual appeal Expressiveness of the dancer Age appropriateness Composition Lighting and quality of the photo Each winner, in each age category will be announced on the final day of the REGIONAL Competitions and presented with an award

ENTRIES REGIONAL entries must be entered online prior to the competition date. Any late entries will carry a late entry fee. NATIONAL qualifiers must be entered online within 72 hours of qualifying Any late entries will carry a late entry fee. The name of a routine may not be the same name as the dance studio. After payment is made, you will receive a summary via email of all routines registered. It is imperative that you review this information including birth date and age division, and reply IMMEDIATELY with any corrections. NO CHANGES WILL BE PERMITTED LESS THAN 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION OR AT THE COMPETITION. You are not a registered contestant unless your payments have been received. No cash refunds will be issued under any circumstances. Independent Entries are welcome COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS PERFORMANCE RULES Dancers must perform their ENTIRE act on the stage. Approaching the panel of judges is not allowed. Routines that are not completed may not attempt a second chance. Special stage or house lighting will not be provided for any performance. Singing is permitted in the Musical Theatre Song & Dance category ONLY. A hand held, wireless microphones will be provided. No personal/studio microphones, headsets, etc. will be permitted. A panel of well-qualified judges will score contestants. All decisions of the judges are final. Sportsmanlike behaviour is expected from all contestants, teachers and families at all times. Failure to display proper decorum could result in disqualification. This includes attempting to recruit students from other studios to attend yours at one of our events.

PROP RULES Props are acceptable if they do not alter the backdrop, wings or the surface of the floor and can be easily removed following the completion of the act. Hanging backdrops and special lighting may not be used. There is no guarantee that power outlets will be available for props that require electricity. Battery-operated props are recommended. When sliding props or moving scenery, do not alter or damage the backdrop, wings or dance floor. If the backdrop, wings or floor are damaged, the studio owner/director will be responsible for its replacement. Props must be loaded in and out of the venue on the same day they are used. MOVE! will not be responsible for props left overnight or unattended. All props MUST be labelled with the studio name for identification purposes. All props must be set on stage by the competitors or studio teacher within 30 seconds maximum. MUSIC ONLY music which contains profanity or racial slurs will result in a PENALTY. 5-POINT DEDUCTION. Contestants are required to provide their own music that must be recorded at the proper speed UPLOAD - Music can be uploaded though our registration system, and must be done at least 14 days prior to the competition. A back up of all music must be accessible in the event that it is needed **CD s: must be labelled with the routine name, number and studio name. There must be only ONE routine per CD **IPODS: These will ONLY be accepted if clearly labelled with the studio name, address and phone number. Each routine must be its own separate playlist. The playlist must be labelled with the entry number and routine title in the following format: #329- Spanish Moods. It is also important to make sure that the repeat function is not enabled. TIME SCHEDULE A time schedule will be e-mailed (provided that an email address was clearly provided on your entry form) no later than seven (7) days before the competition date to all entrants. There is NO general format. Every regional schedule is based solely on the breakdown of entries by solos, duet/trios/quartets, groups, in each age division for that particular city. This breakdown is not available until all of the entries have been processed. At that time, a schedule will be set to best accommodate the entrants at that competition. No specific date or time to perform requests can be accepted due to the scheduling system. However specific religious restriction ONLY will be accommodated but must be noted when entering the pupil/s on line. All entries must compete on the day and time assigned. Please be prepared to perform at least 1 hour earlier than you anticipate.

Routines are expected to perform in the order they are scheduled. If for any reason a routine performs outside of its listed order, video playback and judges critiques of that routine cannot be assured. The number in which each routine is assigned is for reference and identification purposes. Routines will perform in numerical order. If the backstage manager sees potential delays due to costume changes, you may be asked to compete out of sequence in order. Please be prepared to compete when we call your number, even though it may be a few numbers earlier than you anticipated. Performers MUST be checked in with the Backstage Manager 1 HOUR prior to their scheduled performance time. Failure to do so may result in your routine not being able to perform. **NOTE** If you determine that you do not have enough time between numbers to change costumes, it is imperative that you advise the backstage manager. If the backstage manager has not been notified of any problem, and you are not ready to compete when called, your routine may be compromised. BACKSTAGE Teachers and performers are allowed backstage only during their routine or when directed by the MOVE! Stage Manager. Please no food or drinks backstage All performers must clean up in the dressing rooms. No Parents, friend, siblings, family members allowed in the dressing rooms or anywhere backstage DANCERS & TEACHERS ONLY. A Drop and Go system will be in place. Change room facilities are too small to accommodate spectators. ON THE DAY The doors to the venue will open one hour prior to the start of the competition. This will allow participants and spectators access to the lobby, dressing rooms, and the MOVE! Registration/ Merchandise Booth. The doors to the auditorium will open 30 minutes prior to the first performance. The competition may run up to one hour ahead of schedule. Please be prepared for this possibility. Please enter and exit between performances only. Smoking is prohibited inside the building. All Dancers are required to wear a cover-up while in the theatre or any other public area of the venue. Applause and cheering are welcomed and encouraged. Please be respectful and supportive of all the dancers.

PHOTO OR VIDEO Photography and videotaping is not allowed during competition. The only exception is during the award ceremonies, where photography and videotaping is allowed. Failure to abide by this rule can result in disqualification for the studio. If anyone is found photographing or video recording in the competition auditorium, we reserve the right to delete the footage. Teachers it is your responsibility to inform your contestants and parents of this rule. MOVE! makes every effort to align with reputable vendors (photographers, videographers, etc.). However, MOVE! is not responsible for any unfulfilled orders resulting in a financial loss for the customer that may be caused as a direct result from the business practice of any of its vendors. All contestants grant permission to MOVE! to use their photographs and/or videos for promotional reasons. INJURY RELEASE Any performer competing in a dance competition takes certain inherent risks. These include, but are not limited to sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and broken bones. Participation in this competition indicates the acceptance of such risks by performers. Therefore by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold MOVE! National Dance Competition or its Officers, Directors, Staff, or Employees responsible for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them while in attendance and/or participating in any activity related to a MOVE! Competition. The hosting facilities are not responsible for personal injury or property loss to either contestants or spectators. I hereby agree to the terms listed above. Furthermore, by submitting these entries I release all Directors, Officers, and Representatives of MOVE! from any and all claims for damages or injuries sustained while participating in any activity related to this competition.

ENTRY FEES REGISTRATION FEE: The TDA have purchased, from an International Company, the Licence and Services Agreement for the use of their computerised Dance Competition Programme, used by all major Dance Competition Organisers, around the world. This Licence allows the TDA to progress our Dance Competition to International standards by keeping abreast of 21 st century technology through the use of these on-line facilities and the computer hardware to run MOVE! The Licensee (the TDA) is granted access according to the terms and conditions of the purchase which also stipulates a separate fee, charged by the International Company, to each dancer per routine, for his/her usage, scheduling, tabulation and audio feedback. The total amount for such is billed as a REGISTRATION fee to each dancer. This REGISTRATION fee is paid in dollars by the TDA direct to the Company once they have calculated how many dancers and how many routines the Programme hosted. PLEASE NOTE: This fee is not for the TDA s benefit and has nothing to do with the ENTRY fee.
