Olive Recreation is hosting an American Red Cross course Lifeguard Training, including the Waterfront module, 27 hours of instructional time. Classes will be held at the Mt. Olive Municipal Building and Budd Lake Municipal Beach. New students must attend all classes, lifeguards who are re-certifying should call Recreation for an amended schedule. Students will be using ebooks for this class. Students will learn how to download the book during the first class. This means the student will need a device that can download the e- book: (PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet, e-reader). Bring proof of age to the first class. Wet suits are recommended for the water sessions. Please bring snacks and water for our long days. Cost: New student - $285 Recertification - $165 Registration deadline, May 10, 2013. Founded in 2008, we are committed to giving special needs kids an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at their own pace and in a non-competitive, accepting environment. Special needs children from any school district are welcome to attend our programs and we strive to include their typically-developing siblings, when appropriate. A sampling of our programs include: bowling, yoga, summer camp, swim lessons, pumpkin picking, therapeutic horseback riding, multisports clinic, music & movement, snow tubing, Great Wolf Lodge day, and more. Flanders Pediatric Dentistry, LLC Rockefeller Group Development Corporation 1.2 mile Half Ironman & 400 meter Open Water Swim Sunday, July 22 nd, 2013 Budd Lake Beach, 350 Route 46 West, Budd Lake COURSE DESCRIPTIONS 1.2 mile (Half Ironman) Swim & 400 Meter Swim.- Both courses are loops beginning and ending at Budd Lake Beach. In water start. CONDITIONS/SAFETY The safety of our swimmers is our prime concern. The swimming events may be delayed or cancelled due to bad weather. Inclement weather after the race begins may result in the Race Director closing the course, preventing swimmers from completing the swim. The Race Director and First Aid Captain will make this decision. There will be no refund. Entry fee includes a highly visible swim cap that MUST be worn as the top cap during the swim. All swimmers must also have their race number on their arm and shoulder. Lifeguards, safety boats and kayaks will monitor the entire race course and local EMTs and medical personnel will be present.
