Report to May 6 COUNCIL REPRESENTATION 6-7 David Wynne, Deputy Secretary. The timetable for elections for the 7-8 biennial is as follows: Friday 8th April will be the cut-off for determining each Association s financial membership for determining council May will look at preliminary groupings of associations June will finalise the groupings of Associations for council After June Prescribed Information (PI) will be sent to Fair Work to seek Elections in August. Fair Work will refer elections to the AEC who will issue a timetable for the election.. Associations where there is a proposed change due to the membership figures on 8 April 6. Ardlethan and Temora Teachers Associations Coolamon will be included in their grouping. The new grouping will be Ardlethan Temora and Coolamon Teacher Associations. Coolamon and Junee Teachers Associations This grouping did not contain enough members to hold a council position. Therefore it is proposed to move Junee to be grouped with Wagga Wagga Teachers Association and Coolamon to be included in the Ardlethan and Temora TA grouping. Corowa Teachers Association Since Corowa TA did not have the numbers to maintain a councillor, the proposed change involves adding Oakland Central School (previously in Urana Oakland Teachers Association) to the Association and Howlong Public School (previously in Albury TA). Gilgandra and Warren-Nevertire Teachers Association Gilgandra TA did not maintain the member numbers for a council position as at the 8th April. However, adding in Gulargambone Central School (previously in Coonamble Teachers Association to their association gives them the numbers to retain a councillor position in the new council. Lockhart and Narranderra Teachers Associations As at the 8th April these Associations were member short to maintain a council position. However with the addition of Urana Public School to Lockhart the associations have enough members to maintain a councillor position. Page of

Urana- Oakland Teachers Association They did not maintain members to remain under the rules as an Association. It is recommended that the Association is therefore dissolved. Then it is recommended that Oakland Central School be moved into Corowa Teachers Association and that Urana Public School be moved into Lockhart Teachers Association. Wagga Wagga Teachers Association The member numbers in Wagga Wagga Teachers Association dropped and reduced the council entitlement by one, giving an entitlement in the new council of. However joining Junee into a grouped association with Wagga will have the grouped association having an entitlement of councillors.. The following associations have a variation in their entitlement from the current council. Currently 6 7 Canterbury Bankstown Teachers Association 8 9 Illawarra Teacher Association 8 7 Lake Macquarie 7 6 Macleay River Teachers Association St George Teachers Association 8 7 TAFETA 9. The following school are affected in the new proposed structure. Howlong Public School moves from Albury TA to Corowa to ensure Corowa has a council position. Urana Public School moves to Lockhart TA to ensure Lockhart and Narranderra TAs have a council position. Also their previous association Urana Oaklands is to be dissolved. Oakland Central School moves to Corowa TA to ensure Corowa has the numbers for a council position and also as their own association Urana Oaklands is to be dissolved. Gulargambone Central School moves to Gilgandra Teachers Association moves to Gilgandra Teachers association to ensure there is a council position for Gilgandra an Warren-Nevertire Teachers Associations. This has no effect on their current grouped associations entitlement. ( ie Brewarrina Bourke and Coonamble TAs.) Lake Cathie Public School has requested to be placed in Port Macquarie TA from Camden Haven TA there is no effect on either association s council entitlement. Page of
