QF selection Held in the arena at 10:40 (Women) and 11:15 (Men), all runners from the class shall be present Runners are gathered around the TV, where selection of previous runners is shown. The coaches can support the runners, but must stay behind the runners due to capacity of viewable area. The TV shows also the next runners who are on the turn for selection in the left column. Organizers announce the name of the runner, who shall step out before TV and clearly say the number of the heat. This must be done within 5 seconds, otherwise the runner is skipped and his heat is chosen at the end by the organizer randomly. Runner who has voted receives start number instantly after the heat selection.
Special notes for Knock-Out Sprint Quarter-Final Significant part of the competition map will be drawn by 528.1 Area with forbidden access but looks like an ordinary open field/forest in the terrain. Only the paths are mapped, so it is allowed to run along paths only Highliting by tape in terrain is used only where 528.1 Area with forbidden access (olive green) is combined with 709 Out-ofbounds area (purple hatches) There can be artificial objects, on which the controls are placed (Map 2).
Special notes for Knock-Out Sprint Final Map 1 after punching last control, throw away Map 1 on the ground, and take a new Map 2+3 from the table in envelope with your number Map 2+3 is double sided, upper side is the Map 2 and the bottom side (when lying on the table) is the Map 3. Follow mandatory route through the arena, which is 140 m long and leads from last control on the Map 1 to the start point on the Map 2. This route is not marked on any map for legibility reasons. The last control of Map 2 is the last control of the entire course and it is also the start on the Map 3 which is on the other side. Only the mandatory route from the last control to the Finish is on Map3. This last control and the run into the Finish is the same as in Semi-Final, so it is not necessary to read the Map 3 at all.
Self choice at start for QF + SF There is a map sample with 3 variants A, B, C. Competitor has 20 seconds for choosing one of the variants. Three maps are marked as A,B,C from the bottom side - moves selected map to the designated place Start on sample is not the initial start point, but the last control before the self choice part Control numbers in the sample always start from 1 but are normal (e.g. 8, 9) in the real map
Once the competitor has placed his chosen map, they can t take it back If they haven t placed their chosen map in the designated time, they get map A by default
Main runner s responsibilities Do not cross uncrossable objects / areas as per ISSOM 2007 Be careful not cross the Olive green areas even if they look like a normal forest Watch for your start time F: take the right map with your start number when changing maps from map 1 to map 2+3
