We had a lovely time drinking tea and eating cake with some new faces as well as old (chocolate cake seemed to go down well!). We would like to thank all those parents that have taken part and donated cakes, money or even both. Academy Attendance: EYFS 98.0% Year 1 97.5% Year 2 97.3% Year 3 97.3% Year 4 99.1% Year 5 96.5% Year 6 94.8% Overall Academy Attendance 97.2% Our aim is 97% We Scare Hunger Thursday 18 th October As part of our Harvest collection this year we will be holding a We Scare Hunger Day. We are asking all pupils to dress as a superhero in exchange for bringing in a harvest donation. All donations will go to the Bromley Borough Foodbank to help them replenish their stock. This year we have been nominated as The Vegetable School. Please can you donate canned vegetables, however they have asked for no baked beans as they have plenty of these in stock. The foodbank helps individuals and families in crisis, through provision of emergency food supplies. A network of local agencies issue vouchers and refer people to the Foodbank centres to receive food.

Year 3 Tate Britain Project Year 3 have been invited to take part in an amazing Art installation at the Tate Britain in London. The Tate Year 3 Project was launched this week, at Tate Britain, revealing the Turner Prize winning artist behind the project to be Steve McQueen, Oscar-winning director of 12 Years a Slave. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-45548235 Steve McQueen also features in the brief video on the website https://www.tateyear3project.org.uk/ with Blue Peter s Radzi Chinyanganya, explaining his vision behind the project to capture tens of thousands of Year 3 school children in a milestone year in their development and be in an epic picture of the city s present and an intimation of its future. At the same time that Steve McQueen was explaining his vision, the first 5 Ambassador schools had their photography session with the Tate photographers with a variety of activities alongside the photo and some great questions being asked by the children. The Tate photographers will be visiting our Academy on Wednesday 16th October to take the pictures of Year 3. Year 3 are visiting the Tate Britain next week as part of this project.
