Event Info Sheet Overview: On 30 August 2018, a CMC Safety Division, Semper Ride, Motorcycling the Right Way, event will be held at MCB Quantico. The location for this event is Barnett Field and its parking lot. There will be two presentation sessions that are meant to increase a motorcycle rider s safety awareness and decision-making. Videos and guest speakers will be used to deliver the messages along with interactive question and answer sessions. Guest speakers for this event are: Ronnie Renner, 10-time X Games Gold Medalist Jason Pridmore, World Sportbike Racing Champion and owner of JP43 Training (Formerly Star School) A Poker Run will take place for all licensed motorcycle riders. Additionally, a MCCS motorcycle expo will take place at the event featuring motorcycles, riding gear, insurance experts, local traffic safety pros and other relevant items from both local and national companies and entities. The expo will also include a high-flying Freestyle Motocross demonstration featuring top professional riders. This event is open to all military members and civilian DOD employees. Safety awareness presentation sessions: (Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of each session to sign in) 1. 0800 to 0900 Semper Ride, Motorcycling the Right Way presentation 2. 1000 to 1100 Semper Ride, Motorcycling the Right Way presentation When attending a safety awareness presentation as a club, this meets the requirement for the Motorcycle Mentorship Program monthly meeting. Bike Show After the Poker Run, riders can enter their motorcycles into a bike show. Registration will take place on-site. Prizes TBD. Slow Race Prince William County Police will conduct a slow race after the poker run. Registration will take place on-site. Prizes TBD Motorcycle expo: 1. 0900 to 1500 Freestyle motocross demos: 1. 1100 to 1115 2. 1245 to 1300 Professional riders: 1. Adam Jones, X Games Gold Medalist 2. Derek Burlew 3. Brody Wilson There will be a meet and greet with the riders after each demo session. Awards 1. The winning hand in the poker run will receive a MCCS $500 gift card. 2
2. The unit with the highest overall attendance at the Motorcycling the Right Way presentation attendance (riders and non-riders) will receive $500 in unit funds. 3. The unit with the most posts on Instagram using the #semperrideselfie and including their unit name, will receive $500 in unit funds. 4. A raffle will be conducted at the end of the poker run for all participants. Prizes will be motorcycle related items and winners will be drawn from a hat. Additional information: This event is highly encouraged for all riders and potential new riders. All Marines, Sailors, other service members and civilian DOD employees are encouraged to attend as there are lessons to be learned by all that may prove useful in the future. This event is open to all service members and civilian DOD employees. The motorcycle expo is open to spouses and children. Food vendors will be onsite. No pre-registration is required.
