TAM-TAM OVERVIEW AND INVENTORY GENERAL: Tam-Tam (SA3810) is an Alex Simonis-designed 35 fractional rig sloop, manufactured by Fred Scholz Marine and launched in September 1991. Hull number S35-007. SA Registration number SA3810. Previously named Miss Isle and Ballyhoo. She has not been modified. She was bought in Cape Town in 2012 and moored at RCYC. The interior has been kept to the original spec, including heads and heads door. She underwent a major refit in 2012/13 that included removing and respraying the mast and boom, replacing all standing cable rigging with Dyform, replacing all running rigging as well as replacing mast electrics, masthead and deck/steaming lights. This work was done by Associated Rigging in Cape Town. Associated Rigging also fitted a new forestay, twin luff groove system, jackstays, guard lines and pushpit fittings. The existing roller-furling mechanism is in storage, as are stack-pack battens (the stack-pack itself was disposed-of). There is 1 x roller-furling genoa in storage. Action Yachting did most of the routine maintenance, including antifouling, engine maintenance and electrics / electronics. Electronics included new Tack-tick windspeed / direction, depth and water speed
as well as a new Raymarine E7 chart plotter and sat phone with stern-mounted aerial and co-axial cabling. A new icom DSC VHF was fitted in 2015. Most cordage is from Southern Ropes. Sails were maintained by North Sails Cape Town loft. The yacht is presently insured by Club Marine insurance. She is fully-equipped with mandatory Category A safety equipment, including life jackets, harnesses, medical kit, pyrotechnics, life-raft, danbuoy, EPIRB, DSC VHF etc. All safety equipment is in date. The most recent COF was conducted in Knysna in May 2017. Work done on Tam-Tam (April / May 2017 COF and pre-delivery trip): Prop cleaned, fuel tank cleaned, engine serviced, engine throttle in cockpit refitted, safety eyebolt fitted to cockpit, hull cleaned and sanded, new batteries fitted, new anti-fouling, anodes fitted, navigation light electrics checked, topsides cleaned, galley stove fitted with new synthetic gas cylinder. INVENTORY AS AT NOVEMBER 2017 ACCOMMODATION: 2 x saloon berths, 2 x forepeak berths, 2 x double quarter berths, all with bottom cushions. Old saloon backrest cushions are available as templates for replacements, if required. Galley with gas 2-burner stove and oven. New synthetic gas cylinder in starboard lazarette. Cutlery / crockery / utensils storage lockers. Galley safety sling, fire blanket, extinguisher. Galley basin with pressurised fresh water. Cleaning equipment and kettle included.
