Newsletter A Chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters Volume 36, number 4 July/August 2018 President s Message: Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and making plans for fun vacations and picnic parties. In May we painted one of Rosalie Williams favorite flowers, a sunflower. The project was fun and easy allowing us plenty of time to finish. It is always nice to be able to go home with a completed piece. Tina Antonelli taught a fall theme on a glass block at our June meeting. The piece gave us an opportunity to learn new techniques, which Tina explained and clearly demonstrated. A lot of steps were needed to create the leaves and pumpkins, however, the effort was well worth the time. Again, we were able to finish and go home with a completed project. Thank you Rosalie and Tina for all the work required to teach these projects. Charlotte Directions to Our Meeting Place Address: Chestnut Township Park, Route 715 South, Brodheadsville, PA. OSo what do you find in Florida, besides pink flamingos, alligators, and retired people to paint? There are theme parks, beaches, lots of wild life on land and in the water. There is no shortage of citrus, tropical flowers and palm trees. There is such a variety of things that you can paint which would fit the theme! Be creative and have fun. That is what painting is all about. Thank You for all of your help with the luncheon. Joan & Rocky The Pieces for the 2018 Luncheon
