Eastslope Kayak Fishing Classic Tournament Rules 1. All participants must have a valid Alberta Sport Fishing License. 2. All pre fishing inside the tournament boundaries must end by 6 PM on Friday, June 29 th, 2018. 3. All participants must attend a mandatory rules and safety meeting at 8 PM on Friday night. A second meeting may be held the following morning after the other anglers have launched for any teams arriving late. 4. All fishing must be limited to the boundaries set out at the rules meeting. The boundaries may be reduced in the event of adverse weather conditions. 5. Participants may not launch until they have checked out from the Check Station at 6 AM or later Saturday, June 30 th, 2018 Participants must check in no later than 6 PM Saturday, June 30 th, 2018. Fish caught and entered from outside these time limits will not be accepted. 6. Fishing must be done from a watercraft which is human powered the entire duration of the tournament. This watercraft must launch from the designated launch area. The watercraft must meet or exceed all federal and provincial watercraft safety regulations. All watercraft must be clearly marked with an official tournament participation sticker and/or ribbon for the duration of the tournament. All participants must wear a personal floatation device (PFD) at all times on the water. 7. All fishing must comply with Alberta Fish and Wildlife updated Regulations. These can be found on their website www.albertaregulations.ca/fishingregs/ 8. All fishing must be done with Barbless Hooks as per Schedule A. 9. The limit is 10 fish for the day to a species maximum limit of: 2 Trout (Combined species Rainbow, Brown, Brook, Cutthroat), 1 Northern Pike, 3 Mountain Whitefish (over 30cm), 1 Walleye, and 3 Suckers. To enter a fish, the participant must take a clear detailed color photo that includes the provided tournament token on their measuring device. The fish must be on top of the measuring device and should be centered in the photo. The length of the fish is measured from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail. Pinching the tail in order to get the longest possible length measurement is permitted.
10. Upon arrival at the Check Station before closing time, participants must submit their camera memory card for judging. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that there is only one photo of each fish on the memory card or phone for judging. The judge may disqualify any entries that are of poor quality, do not show entire fish on measuring device or photo card that contains more than 1 photo of each fish. Any incidental catches of Bull Trout must be released immediately. 11. We are guest on this lake and at our launch areas and we must act in a responsible manner both on and off the water. Any inappropriate behavior will result in disqualification and removal from the tournament site. 12. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Tournament Director is final. 13. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament at the designated location at or about 7:00 PM.
The Eastslope Kayak Fishing Classic Tournament Schedule Friday, June 29th 6 PM - All pre-fishing inside the tournament boundaries must end. 6 PM - Tailgate BBQ and Social at the Gwendale Hall. 8 PM - All participants must attend a mandatory rules and safety meeting to be held at the Gwendale Hall. A second meeting may be held the following morning after launch at the check in station for those participants unable to attend the Friday night meeting. Saturday, June 30th 6 AM - Tournament Start Time - Participants to check in at check station prior to launch. 6PM Tournament End Time Participants must check out prior to 6PM. Fish caught from outside these times will not be accepted. 7:00 PM - Awards presentation and kayak draw to be held at the Gwendale Hall.
