III. Treasurer s Report (Holly) The Balance and Budget figures were provided to the attendees as follows: - The budget is balanced and as of today, the pending balance is $9,690.94. - Holly provided an update on the PTO moving to the status of non-profit. (Attached is the budget documentation). - Reminder - If you need forms to turn in funds, they are located in the Office in the Treasurers box. IV. Fundraisers A. Box Tops (Kim Smith) - September Winner - Mrs. Martin. - New Box Top Chart in the Cafe for everyone to see. B. Giant A+ / Labels for Education (Amanda Donohue) - We have gotten 225 forms so far for Giant. Hit Goal #2 which is Dr. Winner serving lunch on 10/19/12. - Next Goal is 300 for PJ day. C.. Dinner for Dollars (Sylvia Brand) - October - Was Fuddrruckers. No funds back yet to see what was made. - November - Will be Boro Bar and Grill on 11/13/12. - December - Will be Hoss's. D. ZUMBA (Jodi Fox) - Offering punch cards, go for 10 sessions and get 1 free. - No School, no Zumba. - No Zumba 10/29/12, Town parade. E. Flowers (Susan Brubaker) - Poinsettia will be on Sale November 1st. Forms due November 12th. - Flowers will be in 11/30/12. F. Walk-A-thon (Maria Shaffer and Tiffany Epoca) - Named "Lace up your Sneakers for Learning" this year. - Water bottles for kids are ready. There will be gift card drawings for each grade. One for teachers. The classes that won the pizza party and ice cream will have it on Monday 11/12/12. Asking that Homeroom parents help with side dishes on that date for those classes. Donations are coming in. No numbers totaled as of this meeting. - Goal is to earn enough to cover Ipad Lab. G. Book Fair (Kelly Williamson and Lori Goss) - Sold $5532.96 this year; $1000 less than last fall. PTO will get $1200 in Scholastic Dollars. H. KidStuff Books (Mary Yohn) - Mary has 9 books left for sale. 2
I. Spirit Wear (Carol Hollinger and Beth Kurtz) - Spirit Wear should be ready for kids on Tuesday 10/16/12. V. Special Activities (Mary Yohn) 1. There is a skating party - 10/14/12 Sunday from 2 4pm at the Hershey Park Arena. 2. Nye Movie night is October 19 th at 6:30 pm. Showing LORAX. 3. Bears game will be December 19th. VI. Nye on the Net (Molly McDonald) 1. Planning to have Nye on Net out 1 st day of each month. 2. Reminder to everyone; send dates you need on calendar to Amy Atkins by the 25 th of each month, for the Hummelstown Herald. 3. Please send all dates, events, and fundraiser flyers to Molly to put on the PTO site. 4. Added Events Website, Chairperson contacts and 2-hr Pledge Forms. VII. Old Business Nothing pending at this time. VIII. New Business 1. PTO changes for meetings PTO has child care services, name tags, door prize, and refreshments for anyone coming to a monthly PTO meeting. 2. Discussed paperwork with Homeroom parents, parties, allergies, etc. 3. Facebook seminar - pending a date to be determined. 4. Nye Directory - went to be printed. 5. Pending a Senators fundraiser - this would host the 5th grade Choice/band. 6. Tonya Dreon suggested a class by PHEAA on financial planning. PENDING. Action Item: Date Item Description Assigned To 2/17/11 _ old item For 2010-2012 school year, it had been agreed upon that the Nye / Price would continue to provide the $100 to the High school for SR award night; as they request each year. One for a Nye Boy and one for a Nye girl. Mr. Winner and Kelly Williamson Notes /Due Date Being worked on so we can set up funds. However, this issue is being re-assessed with Mr. Winner (after he speaks with Mr. Poppy). 3
