The Rockies won yesterday's series opener vs. the Braves 3-0 the game was scoreless through seven innings before the Rockies scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning the last time a game at Coors Field went scoreless through seven innings was July 25, 2013 vs. Miami. Blackmon now has 13 triples at Coors Field, the most triples by a player in his home ballpark since Carl Crawford hit 13 triples at Tropicana Field in 2004 it is the most by an NL player since Ryne Sandberg had 13 triples at Wrigley Field in 1984 the last National League player to record 14 or more triples at home was Paul Waner for the 1928 Pittsburgh Pirates. Acquired: Selected first Round 2014 First-Year Player Draft FOR STARTERS Making his 22nd career Major League start, his 23rd appearance, and his 12th start at home making his first start since being placed on the disabled list Aug. 5 with a left groin strain. Rookie southpaw is a native of Denver who graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Pitched collegiately at the University of Evansville in Southern Indiana drafted by Colorado in the first round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft (eighth overall). Invited twice to Major League Spring Training, in 2016 and 2017. LAST TIME OUT Faced two batters Aug. 4 vs. Philadelphia before being removed from the game with a left groin strain was placed on the 10-day disabled list the next day. SECOND-HALF Has made three starts and one relief appearance since the All-Star break, going 2-0 with a 3.14 ERA (14.1 IP, 5 ER), three walks and 12 strikeouts.
