2017/2018 Registration: Our 2017/18 Season is going to be great!!! We are excited to have you join us! To help you get started, here is some need to know information about our programming. We have broken our registration process into 3 easy to follow steps! Step 1: Read over the information and decide as a family on pre-competitive or prep/competitive cheer Step 2: Send an e-mail (Prep/Competitive Athletes will be given a time to attend team placements) Step 3: You will receive an e-mail from us on August 25 th with information about your team and when to come in to fill out paperwork, be sized for a uniform and to make payments or set up a payment plan (August 28 th, 29 th, 30 th ). Step 1: Pre-competitive, Prep or Competitive Cheer? (see New Programming for information on our New All-Star Dance Program and Special Needs Cheer Team) Our teams are first split by age and then by skill and commitment level. Teams range in size from 10-12 athletes all the way up to 32 athletes. If you are new to our gym we have a couple of different options for you. You first get to decide if you are interested in our pre-competitive program (ages 3-8), or our Prep/Competitive program (ages 5-adult). Age is decided by how old your athlete is on August 31 st, 2017. Tiny: Ages 3-6 years old Mini: Ages 7-8 years old Youth: Ages 9-11 years old Junior: Ages 12-14 years old Senior: Grade 9-18 years old Open Level 6: 17 years and older & Graduated High School Open Level 5: 14 years & older Pre-Competitive: Our Pre-competitive stream is perfect for families wanting to try out our sport, have additional commitments to other activities, or are wanting to keep expenses down. These pre-competitive teams run once per week on the weekend in a non-competitive environment and offer athletes the opportunity to perform at showcases and demonstration performances while learning about our sport and working towards a routine to perform. There are no competition or travel expenses for our Pre-competitive Stream. Prep: Our Prep division is a great opportunity for both new and returning athletes age 7-11 years old. This is a very new stream that we had the opportunity to try out with one of our teams last season. It offers the athletes of our gym an opportunity to find more success within our level 1 division. These teams have performances and competitions throughout the season. There are minimal competition/travel expenses involved with these teams. Competitive: Our competitive stream is intended for returning or experienced athletes or athletes interested in committing to two or three practices per week in a more competitive environment. These teams are required to have a higher level of commitment, and depending on the age group, more competitions and travel expectations.

Step 2: Send an E-mail Now that you have had the opportunity to decide on what programming best suits your athletes and your family s needs here is how to register! ***Pre-competitive Stream***: If you have decided that the pre-competitive stream is the best fit for your family, all you need to do is send the following information to info@prairiefirecheerleading.ca with the following: I am interested in registering for the pre-competitive program Athletes Name, Birthdate, Grade Entering, Parents Names, Contract Phone Number And that s it! You will be registered! We will send you a confirmation e-mail to let you know your information has been received, and then on August 25th we will send you out some more information about your team, when to come in to fill out forms and confirm all of the details for the season! ***Prep/Competitive Stream***: If you have decided that the prep/competitive stream is the best fit for your family, all you need to do is send in the following information to info@prairiefirecheerleading.ca with the following: I am interested in registering for team placements Athletes Name, Birthdate, Grade Entering, Parents Names, Contract Phone Number *if you are interested in being placed as a top/flyer please make mention in your e-mail* You will receive an e-mail from us with a time and date to attend team placements team placements is where we bring in all of the athletes interested in a prep or competitive team so that we can see where everyone is starting their season off. Athletes will be registered to come to the gym with approximately 20 of their peers the week of August 21st. There will be a short form to fill out when you arrive. You will need to bring shoes, a water bottle and something comfortable to wear. The athletes will warm up together and then will have the opportunity to work with the coaches on stunting, jumping, stretching, dance and tumbling. Parents are more than welcome to watch. After team placements are done for the entire club (at the end of the week), you will receive an e-mail with the information about which team your athlete has been placed on. Everyone is placed on a team! The team placement process enables us to place kids with other kids at the same starting point so that everyone feels great with the skills and abilities they bring forward to their team nobody is too far ahead or too far behind their teammates! Step 3: Forms, Uniforms and Payments Almost done! The last step in registration is to come in to the gym, fill out the necessary forms, be sized for a uniform and make payments (or be set up on a payment plan). This year, teams will be assigned a time and date to come in to try to provide a smoother registration process. The time/date your team comes in will be included in your information e-mail on August 25 th. We will have staff on hand to make this process as smooth as possible. Forms, Uniforms and Payments will be done Aug 29 th, 30 th and 31 st. 2017/2018 New Programs! We are really excited to introduce an All-Star Dance program this upcoming season and a Special Needs Cheer Team - Glow!! Dance! This season we are introducing two All-Star dance teams (names TBA) to the gym these teams will be practicing on Saturdays starting in September and will have a season that runs until mid-april, 2018. Our first dance team will consist of athletes 9-11 years old, our second dance team will consist of athletes 12-18 years old. The teams would be competing in the Pom division and would work on a routine to perform and compete at different competitions throughout the season. As this program is very new to us, we are still working on details about costuming and competition and performance events, we will continue to work on this throughout the summer. If you are interested in joining our 2017/18 All-Star Dance Program please send an e-mail to info@prairiefirecheerleading.ca with the following information, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with all the details! 2017/18 Uniforms We are really excited for this upcoming season s uniform! Every three years we move to a new uniform and we have new ones coming for this upcoming season! Everyone will be getting a new uniform! We have moved to a different manufacturer this year to try out some product that is a bit different than what we have had in the past. Please note that because of this change, the uniform prices have changed quite a bit from what we have been able to offer previously we have done our very best at keeping the costs down for what families having been asking for without effecting the quality of the product. Flicker, Kindling & Firestarters will move to having a club t-shirt and shorts for their performance wear this helps keep the costs down for our pre-competitive stream, yet will keep them in matching club attire. Firebugs, Burn, Spitfires & Sparks will be moving to a black based uniform with a long top and skort it will be comparable in bling to our last uniform, however with a new color and new design and a lower cost of $170 (instead of $198) Firecrackers, Crossfire, Fireworks, Flames, Firestorm and Ignite will be moving to a uniform with a bit more bling and a really different design for this upcoming season. You asked for a new design and some more bling we ve got it! However, with the change in design and added fun, the cost of this uniform will be $300 for this upcoming season. Ignite (and Flames if they are a Senior team) will have the option of the short top (instead of the long top), all other teams will have the long style top. Flare, Wildfire, Heat, Fever and Our Open 6 team will be moving into a super blingy new style uniform. Flare and Wildfire will have the long tops. Heat, Fever and our Open 6 team will have the option of a long top or a short top. This uniform will be $380.
