VACATIONS: Please note that winter vacations are not an option as this is the height of our season and all girls must be in attendance at each and every practice. Please continue to write in the vacation log throughout the season to help with weekend scheduling of practices and stunt clinics. Please include all activities that may interfere with a practice or clinic, especially school cheer, sports or religious schedules. Tumbling: Tumbling is a crucial element to all-star cheerleading routines. Tumbling skills determine the level of each team. The large majority of the team needs the highest skills of each level to score well. Please refer to our web site for the open class schedules. The girls are welcome to come to additional open classes all season. We also offer summer camp, open tumbling classes & private lessons for extra tumbling instruction. Private lessons & small group lessons are also available. For scheduling or information: Please contact John at janderson@newtownathletic.com TRAVEL: Our travel plans for Nationals will be confirmed in the fall, as we may be adding and/or deleting some. The fees for any hotel rooms are NOT included in your tuition. Girls competition entry fees are included. Families are invited and welcome to accompany the teams to Nationals at their own expense. Please know that traveling and hotel nights are not covered in the tuition price. If a child cannot be accompanied by a parent/adult then the coaches will ensure that they stay with one of the coaches. PARENT PARTICIPATION: Parents are strongly encouraged to become as involved as possible. Everyone has the opportunity to become part of a parent committee and is strongly encouraged to do so. TEAM MOMS are a key part of a well run team. Team moms will receive a 10% tuition discount this season. If you are organized, easily accessible, don t mind paperwork & are able to send out emails & texts easily for the coaches, please let your coaches know you are interested. ROCK STARZ CHEER GYM: This winter we will be moving into the NAC s brand new multi-million dollar field house. The entrance to the field house will be off of Pheasant Run w/ a circular drive for easy drop off & pick up. There will also be a mezzanine area for viewing the last 15 min of practices and/or tumbling classes. For now, we are in our temporary location in the NAC s blue gym. COMMITMENT:
Most important to being on a successful team is the commitment required to the sport of all-star cheerleading. This program requires dedication, time, support, sportsmanship and respect for you and others, both inside and outside of our organization. It is imperative that each child and parent be dedicated, flexible and supportive. Competitive cheerleading is a huge commitment on both the cheerleader and her family. Our coaching staff is 100% dedicated to your children and their growth in this sport. Most of us are parents who understand the demands and sacrifices that sometimes need to be made for a competitive team. Again, we are enforcing a strict policy regarding involvement in outside activities that may cause team members to miss, leave early, or be late for practice. Please be aware that misses for any activity will be counted as unexcused. Schedule changes to accommodate other outside activities are not likely. Only 4 unexcused absences are allowed before dismissal from the team. Lengthy illnesses require a Dr s note to be excused. We ask that a coach is notified PRIOR to missing any practice so we can change our practice plans. Once a child misses 3 times for reasons that are unexcused a parent will be notified by a coach letting them know where their attendance stands. Part of the commitment to Rock Starz is being a team player as well as respecting your coaches & teammates. All team members are required to sign a cheerleading constitution that outlines our policies. Parents also will be asked to sign the parent s code of ethics. Who s Who at Rock Starz.
