3 As Volunteers, we work with a swimming Club or at a meet for a Club, Area, State or Nationals. Our work is related to children. NSW Department of Education and Communities, has introduced, via NSW Commission for Children and Young People, a Working with Children Check (WWCC), as a prerequisite for anyone in child related work, effective as of 15 June 2013. Metro South West has advised that Swimming NSW requires that all Clubs and Officials comply with this Legislation by 1st January 2015. To comply with this directive, ALL CLUB VOLUNTEERS (i.e. committee members, technical officials and parent volunteers will be required to gain a Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and provide their details to the Club Secretary David Fitzpatrick by 1 January 2015. There is NO COST involved for a WWCC for VOLUNTEERS. How to apply : 1. Complete the online application form at http://www.newcheck.kids.nsw.gov.au. Click on the blue START HERE box to begin the application. 2. When you have lodged your online application, you will receive an APPLICATION NUMBER. 3.
