Canyoning We are one of the few UK companies that can offer authentic canyoning. We only use qualified UK canyon guide instructors who will ensure your decent of a mountain canyon is slick and exciting. This activity involves extreme waterfall abseils, big jumps and slides. This is not for the faint hearted and it will require nerves of steel!

Ghyll Scrambling Our most popular activity for Groups looking for an exciting, action packed day out. Ghyll scrambling is descending a mountain stream, it involves jumps and slides into pools of water. Brilliant way to start or finish your AT package.

Climbing & Abseiling There is a wide range of mountain crags and quarries we can use for Climbing and abseiling in the Lake district, Yorkshire or Lancashire. We can teach you what you will need to know to get the best out of these activities. A fantastic way of pushing yourself to the limit both physically and mentally, The biggest abseil locally is 130 feet! Both involving team work, believing in yourself and encouraging your fellow climbers. Our instructors can offer you tuition at all levels

Horizontal Caving There are 3,500 caves to explore in Yorkshire. Something for every ability and not all caves have to involve squeezes and crawls. Some Caves are huge caverns. There is so much to see and learn underground. Great fun day out for any ability.

Vertical Caving This is the ultimate activity for challenging young people. Abseiling, lowers, craws, squeezes and ladders, all done underground. More People have been to the top of Everest than down the depths of the deepest caves in Yorkshire!

Hill walking The Lakes and Yorkshire Dales have endless beautiful walks and summits to chose from. With a variety of gradients of accent and difficulty. We can include Challenges or multiple summits as part of a DofE award or just for the sense of achievement.

Challenges Yorkshire three Peaks (With accommodation provided) The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a fantastic activity to challenge yourself both physically and mentally whilst in a beautiful environment. A qualified mountain leader will guide you round the Thee Peaks challenge and make sure you have an enjoyable and memorable day. The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent.

Our Ethos: Safety Enjoyment Learning

Safety Adventurous training exposes people to controlled risk. It is designed to challenge and to inspire. Working at this level does involve a level of risk. With this in mind we have comprehensive Risk Assessments for all our activities and we also complete daily dynamic risk assessments based on weather conditions and group ability. These have been checked by the licensing authority. Our Risk assessments are live documents that are updated annually but also whenever new information comes to light. We use our technical advisors to stay abreast of any environmental changes that we need to note in our Risk Assessments.

Safety Technical Advisors:-Whilst we offer a technical advisory service to other centers we also use technical advisors to keep us at the top of our game. Our technical advisors offer advise and support on safety critical issues and also safety equipment and changes in environment in the locations we use. Caving, Mountaineering, Climbing and Abseiling - Dominic Hoare ( CIC MIA ) Canyoning and Paddlesports Ben Bryant (UKCC level 3 coach / five star Kayak / Five star canoe / UKCG Single Pitch Guide / ICOPRO International canyoneer 123. Insurance:-CCUK is fuly insured and we will provide proof of our insurance once the booking process is completed. We are insured up to 5,000,000 in both public and employers liability with a specialist outdoor insurance company.

Licensing Authority We are delighted to be part of AALA and believe it is a crucial part to setting industry standard and keeping clients safe when taking part in Adventurous training. AALA:-All companies taking school group bookings involving under 18 s should hold an AALA license. It is a legal requirement. It is best practise for the organiser of cadet or school bookings to request this number. We display the AALA logo on our website as we have recently been inspected. Each AALA reference number is unique and can be used to search the company s AALA inspection report. The licensing authority check everything from Risk Assessments, instructor qualifications, CPD training and team training to equipment, its safe storage and annual checks. All processes are thoroughly checked and recommendations for improvement are made. AALA licenses can last for 1 2 or 3 years depending on the size of the company and the volume of clients expected. Our AALA licences is for 2 years which is excellent for a company of our size. AALA will come back to us in two years and they will expect to see any recommended changes implemented and the standard of safety maintained. During the time a company holds the license AALA inspectors will arrange to meet groups and monitor the delivery of adventurous activities and can request visits at any point on any activity.

Enjoyment Using AT as a means to improve self- confidence, leadership, respect for others is an important part to Adventure Training, We enhance this process by ensuring participants leave having had an enjoyable and memorable time. For many cadets this may be their first experience of AT, it is imperative that this experience is enjoyable to ensure that the Cadets leave with a positive foundation that they can build on. When we plan our sessions its got to be fun, interactive and inspiring. We want cadets to leave us with fantastic memories, to go back to base and tell others about the fantastic time they had on AT this year on annual camp. To do this we use the best kit, best locations and the best instructors.

Learning The learning process is different for many students. We use a variety or teaching skills to promote long term learning and ensure that everyone gets the benefit from the training. Whilst the Cadet force leads onto potential military careers its also to improve values within the community. We can use AT to teach young people CDRILS Courage Discipline Respect Integrity Loyalty Selfless Commitment

Learning All these attributes whilst being part of the Army leadership code are also personal attributes that are highly regarded in the civilian sector, any learning in these areas can only be advantageous for young people when moving into employment and adult hood. For students who wish to pursue Qualifications we can offer DofE and also National Governing Body qualifications in climbing and paddlesports.
