Below The Rim is an organization that is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of youth athletes. Our vision is to provide opportunities for youth to develop their full potential through athletic competition, academic enrichment, and individual initiative. DEVELOPMENT Development is one of the most important concepts that we undertake in our program. We will take the word "development" and give it special meaning. Not only will we teach you fundamental basketball skills for your development, but we will go one step further -- we will teach you life lessons that will build upon the foundation of your character and further develop you to succeed in your life. ENVIRONMENT The Directors and Coaches strive to provide the student-athletes with a highly disciplined, focused, competitive, and funfilled environment in which players learn the value of setting goals, working hard and achieving. The vigorous and fair coaching style is founded on constructive criticism and praise and is most effective in instruction as well as preparation for college coaching styles. EXPECTATIONS The coaches value and respect each player and take an interest in the player's development in basketball and as a person. The coaches expect several characteristics from players, including effort, commitment to attend practice and games, and utmost respect for coaches, referees, parents, teammates and themselves. The parents should encourage and respect the development of their student-athletes and teammates as well as the coaches' efforts to teach the players. Parents and players will be expected to participate in fundraising to defray team expenses. Players, parents and coaches must exhibit good sportsmanship towards one another, opposing teams and the referees. HISTORY is a 501(c) 3, non profit organization established in 2007 in South Florida. The organization founder Carlos Adamson, goal was to start a program to help under privilege youth, by way of sports. Below The Rim currently has teams in the state of Florida and Oklahoma. Since establishment in 2007, Below The Rim has helped over 50 student athletes obtain college scholarships. Hard work, does pay off!

By signing this commitment letter, I understand the Below The Rim (BTR) team will not be secondary to other non-school sports. The undersigned player may play other selected non-school sports with the understanding that his/her participation with the Below The Rim (BTR) team will be first priority. I also understand and acknowledge that all team practices and games are mandatory and all players must be attentive and on time unless otherwise agreed upon by the coach responsible for the undersigned player. The Registration Fees to participate in the Below The Rim (BTR) program basic fees are $75.00 per month for the regular season dates as noted above, and due on the 10 th of every month. As the undersigned parent and/or legal guardian I understand that I am responsible for obtaining an AAU card, if the team elects to participate in AAU sanctioned events. The AAU Card is mandatory for all sanctioned AAU State and National Events for the current season. The cost of the subject AAU Card is $14 for the undersigned player. I understand that all uniforms are the property of the Below the Rim (BTR) Organization. As the parent and/or legal guardian I understand it is my responsibility to return the undersigned players uniform in received condition, with normal wear and tear. Uniforms are to be returned to the head coach at the last game of the season or the date determined by the head coach. I also understand that as the parent and/or legal guardian I agree to pay $150 for lost or damaged uniforms in my child s possession. Travel Fees & expenses are booked and paid for directly from the parents. These additional cost are not included in your basic program fee. I also acknowledge that no refunds will be given if the undersigned player chooses to leave the Below The Rim (BTR) after the first Registration Fee payment has been made. We expect all parents, family members, and staff to be professional. If there is something that you have concerns about please approach your coach in a respectable and adult manner. If anyone is angry about something, it is a good rule of thumb to wait 24 hours to calm down. Always try to remember this is for the kids. Playing time will be earned during practice, continued improvement of basketball fundamental techniques, player s attitude/commitments, and at the discretion of the coaching staff per individual player. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) Why do I have to pay a membership fee for my child to play? Below The Rim dues covers some of the administrative expenses for registering the club with the AAU each year, website hosting and domain registrations, and liability insurance, and training equipment. Individual team expenses which are divided among the players also include gym time, coaching expenses for travel and training, training. Outside clinics and additional player gear can be ordered through the club. What does the membership fee s go to? Coaching fees Skills Training Gym Rental Do I still pay for entry to an event that is hosted by Below The Rim, when I have already paid my monthly fees? Yes. While a tournament may be hosted by Below The Rim, it is still cost associated with the tournament. Tournament directors have to pay for officials, gym rentals, advertisement, insurance, and trophies, just to name a few. Why don t all the Below The Rim Teams attend the same tournaments? There are a number of things that go into factor when deciding which teams go to what tournaments. Let s go over a few of the most common reasons. Not all tournaments have the same age divisions. A tournament may only have 6 th,7 th,8 th grade teams. Thus not allowing us to take 5 th grade teams and below. Also, each team and parents are responsible for fundraising for out of state tournaments. Some out of state tournaments can cost upwards in the thousands of dollars. Another thing to note is there are different divisions division I and II, or A and B teams. There is a good reason for this. Instead of being offended because your child does not make the "A" team, realize that the coaches know best. Losing every game by thirty points is no fun for your child s team or their opponents. It is also no fun for your child to sit on the bench while all of the A players are playing. So some tournaments only offer an A division. SPONSORSHIP LETTER To Whom It May Concern, My name is Carlos Adamson, Founder and President of. The boys and girls in our organization are currently looking for individual and community sponsorships to help our organization achieve their full potential on and off the bask etball court. We have started our 2017 2018 season, and we look forward to another successful season. Participation in team sports allows the children to gain key attributes needed to excel in today s society such as self-confidence, personal motivation, discipline, determination, sportsmanship, a nd most importantly teamwork. Without funding many of the children will not be able to participate and will lose the opportunity to gain these valuable skills. Our boys and girls will be competing in several in state tournaments as well as out of state tournaments. It takes a lot for our boys and girls to practice, play their games, and do fundraising. We are reaching out to you to help our boys and girls with these expenses. If you are able to sponsor or donate to our team, we would be grateful for yo ur support and help. All checks / money orders should be made out to: Below The Rim / BTR. Thank you for your time and support. Our games and tournament schedule will be posted online if you wish to come out and support the Below The Rim basketball organization. A TALENT GOES NOWHERE, WITHOUT SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES IN THEM.
