GREEN DRAGON BOWMEN 2 nd July 2013 The Station, Knebworth Attendance Denise Carpenter, Mark Carpenter, John Bacon, Diane Bacon, Gary Bellamy, Jayne Bellamy, Tony Verboom, Ian Freeman, Catherine Williams, Nina Freeman, Carl Joslin, Susan Hook, Paul Hook. Apologies Tina Hanslow, Ian Larke, Gaynor Hutchison. Dave Leader, Derek Ingle. Chairman s Report We received sad news regarding Mike. Thank you all for coming this evening. The AGM was held on the 28 th May 2013 and whilst there was not a huge turnout, it was successful. Following on from the AGM, I have as yet to work on the wording of a clause to be added to the shooting rules regarding complaints. We have completed the first of our beginners courses for this year. I retained the basic format but began by holding a meeting at which I reminded people of what and how things should be taught. This was in line with recommendations from Archery GB about standardising beginners courses. As a result the course, from my point of view was probably the most successful we ve had. Certainly the comments I have received from both those taking part and helping out have been very The September course is almost full. As you now know, a week later I received the sad news of Mike King s sudden death. I have ordered a floral tribute from the club for his funeral, but have not yet received the details of the memorial service. I am putting a book into the hut for all members to write in, which I will take to his memorial service and pass onto his family. I have received applications for membership from the following:- Mr David Farthing Mr Brendon Carroll Kathryn Clampitt Ms Anne Peppiatt Ms Emma Mallett Mr David Postance Mrs Sally Jeffrey Committee had no objections

Buildings Officer Not present Although the new roof has been put on there is still work needed inside. The side of this hut, that is nearest to the bosses hut, needs a bit of work and painting. County Representative Nothing to report, still have not received the minutes of the March meeting. So far there has been no response for help at the County shoot on Sunday 7 th July at Hitchin. We are lending bosses and stands for this competition which will be picked up by Dave Leader from Odyssey tomorrow.. Records Officer It has been noted over the last couple of weeks a number of score sheets have not been filled in properly. If the right information is not on score sheets they will not be accepted Committee agreed for this to be put on the club website.

Susan Hook has achieved her Longbow Bowman status. DC will send an email to all reminding them not to leave equipment on the field. Replacement for lost Warwick badge and ribbon will cost 5 GNAS classifications have all changed. Tournament Officer Not present. I.T. Website has been overhauled and is easier to navigate. Score sheets are on and have added information to help. Carl has done a lot of work re sight mark calculations. There are 27 pages of classifications these will be laminated by Denise and put in the hut. Social Secretary Thought needs to be given to the arrangements for the Friends and Family BBQ in August. Catering Officer Junior Representative Child Protection Officer A.O.B. JB asked if the club could honour Mike King in some respect. DC suggested we change the name of the Windsor in his memory Mike King Memorial Windsor Shoot Committee were in full agreement. We will buy a new trophy and have it engraved in his memory. It would also be nice to ask Mike s daughter to be Lady P at the 2014 Windsor. MC referred to the ID cards on quivers mentioned at the last meeting DC showed a plastic envelope that cards could be inserted into but suggested larger laminated cards with a hole punched n them. Committee voted for the latter option. SH asked if the club had a historic date coming up that we could celebrate. DC suggested we pick October 14 th as our 50 th Anniversary. Meeting ended at 9.30p.m. Next meeting Tuesday 6 th August 2013 8.00p.m. at The Station
