THE SILVER SIGNAL www.lonestartreasure.com January 2010 1 Paul Wilson Dave Totzke Peter Krell Robert Jordan Lone Star Club Executive Officers President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Prez Sez I want to say thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped make the Christmas Party such a great success, especially former President Robert Jordan. Robert did an excellent job during his term, and the club s growth under his leadership gives me the opportunity to do some new and exciting things. When I first considered running for president last year, I asked myself a simple question: What could I offer the club as president that no one else had? It took most of the year to find the answers, but I begin my term with confidence that I will help grow the membership, create better programs and re-invigorate our long-time members whose participation in club activities has declined. Some of the topics we will discuss at the next meeting include: Swap & Shop This will be a table set up to help find a new home for used detectors and equipment. This is not a garage sale please only bring relevant items.
Page 2 I have plans for a new progressive competition hunt that will be explained at the next meeting. We will also have goodie bags for all our new visitors. Volunteers We need more volunteers, especially to set up and tear down the meeting room. Private Hunts As a reward to all of our past and to encourage future volunteers, I will be arranging trips to previously un-hunted locations for those individuals only. Unfortunately, my new position also requires that I address some unpleasant issues. Due to numerous complaints, I have proposed to the board that anyone who answers or talks on their cell phone during a meeting have any Find of the Month Board items removed and 0 points awarded. (If the person has no items on the board, he or she will be asked to leave the meeting.) Anyone who commits a second offense will have his or her club membership revoked. Hopefully, we can all show one another the courtesy of stepping outside if we have to take a call during a meeting. I m looking forward to sharing more ideas with all of you and getting your feedback and thoughts on how we can work together to make LSTHC a club we all take pride in. I know I am proud to be your president, and I m very optimistic about everything we will achieve this year.
