Summer Celebration Open Gaited Horse Show July 13-15, 2018-- Horse Show Rules and Information Show time 1:00 pm Friday, 9:00 a.m. Saturday & Sunday Lone Hickory Arena, 1950 Bethel Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC Show Manager: Milda Minter, pasofinotrainer@gmail.com, 336-225-0214 (cell) PLEASE NOTE: Current negative Coggins test within 1 year of show date is required and will be checked at show office. Concessions will be available on site. No alcoholic beverages allowed. The Summer Celebration Open Horse Show is sanctioned by Friends of Sound Horses for all gaited classes. For more information or to view show rules, visit www.fosh.info. Membership in FOSH is NOT required in order to participate in any gaited class. There are no membership or registration requirements for any association in order to participate, except for RMHA classes as noted below. Rescue and unregistered horses are welcome to show in classes appropriate for their type. RMHA classes for Rocky Mountain Horses are point classes sanctioned as a "B" level show. There are 2 separate shows, one on Friday afternoon and one on Saturday. Current memberships, ownerships, and registrations for these horses must be presented at the show. The IJA will be conducting their annual judges' clinic during this show. Judge: Debbie Rash, Chino, CA (certified with IJA, PFHA) Entry Fees: $20 per regular class, $25 per championship class. For classes 29 (beginner rider), 31 (leadline), and 34 (walk only) only, entry fee is $10 per class. Please turn in your entries by Friday or by email before the show if possible. Check in at the show office upon arrival to get your entries done early. All exhibitors (or parents of youth exhibitors) will have to sign a liability release form in order to participate. Show will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Breaks will be announced on show day. Stall Fees: Pipe stalls, 1 night--$35, 2 nights--$50, 3 nights--$60. Solid stalls--$75 for weekend. Stalls are available on Thursday July 12 and should be vacated by Sunday evening July 15. Please note that there are a limited number of stalls available which will be assigned on a first come/first served basis. Tack stalls in the horse barn will be available only if barn is not full and will be same price as horse stalls. Be prepared to stow and lock your tack in trunks or your vehicle/trailer if needed. Stalls include one bag of shavings, extra shavings are available on site for $6 per bag. You may bring your own shavings but no sawdust, fines, straw, or paper bedding is allowed. There is a designated area for trailer tying across the road from the arena. You may use this area at no charge during each day but please clean up after your horses and do not leave horses unattended. No overnight tying allowed. RV Spaces are available at $25 per night with electric hookup only. Vendor Spaces are available for the weekend in designated areas. 10' x 10' space is $50 with electricity or $30 without electricity for the weekend. Please call if you need a bigger space than this. Class Codes: OGB= open gaited breed (open to any non-trotting breed as per FOSH rules); TWH=Tennessee Walking Horse; PF=Paso Fino; RMHA=Rocky Mtn Horse Assoc; SSH=Spotted Saddle Horse; RH=Racking Horse. Horses may be entered in their specific breed classes or in OGB classes. A class which has no breed designation is open to any horse.

Class Rules: *For Championship classes, you must show in at least one qualifying class in a division in order to compete in the championship class in that division. *Every rider must compete only in his/her age division except for open classes and championships. Youth riders are 17 & under, adult riders are 18 & over. *Any class which does not specify English or western tack may be ridden either way or should be ridden as appropriate for your breed. *Non-trotting classes (OGB) include walk & slow pleasure gait(2 -gait), & extended pleasure gait(3-gait), no canter or lope unless specified. These classes are open to any gaited breed such as Paso Finos, Peruvian Pasos, Foxtrotters, Walking Horses, Rockies, Racking Horses, or others that show a 4-beat gait. Rescue and unregistered gaited horses are also welcome to compete in these classes. *Any patterns to be used for showmanship, equitation, or other classes will be provided on show day. *Show management reserves the right to combine, cancel, or add classes. Classes may be run concurrently when possible but may be judged and placed separately. *For any other questions, show management decision will prevail and be final. *Gait codes: W=walk, C=canter, L=lope, G=gait (whatever gait is appropriate for your breed). *Exhibitors are responsible for making their classes on time. There will be no paddock calls and no refunds for missed classes. Please report to the show entry gate in a timely manner. At stop sign, go straight onto Bethel Church Rd, arena is one mile on right. www.lonehickoryarena.com Awards: Rosette ribbons will be awarded in all classes, tri-color rosettes will be awarded in all championship classes. Trophies and other prizes will be awarded. Show Attire: Formal show attire is not required but is suggested; however, long pants and appropriate riding shoes or boots are required at all times when riding. Attire should be appropriate for your breed's rules and requirements under FOSH or your breed association rules. Helmets are strongly recommended. Please, no tank tops or ball caps in the show ring. Clothing should be neat, safe, and appropriate for a family environment. RMHA classes are official point classes and attire and tack should follow association show rules. Tack: Please use appropriate tack for the breed or discipline you represent according to show rules. Any tack deemed cruel or inhumane by the judge will not be allowed. Leg wraps, splint boots, and other training aids are not allowed. Bell boots or other hoof protection are allowed if allowed by breed or discipline. Training headgear is allowed if accepted under traditional rules for your class. Safety: This may be considered a training show; however, unruly or unsafe horses will be excused from the show ring. Any horse, exhibitor, or spectator who causes an unsafe or threatening environment for participants may be asked to vacate the arena or show grounds. Any horse who appears to be physically stressed or lame or injured will not be allowed to compete as per show management or judge. Entry or stall fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. Sponsorships: Class sponsorships are available for $40 per class or 3 classes for $100. Championship classes are $60 per class and include sponsor's name engraved on trophy. There will be a free banner placement in show arena for any sponsor purchasing $100 or more in sponsorships (banner supplied by sponsor). Summer Celebration Open Gaited Show Sponsor Form Thank you for your support of the Summer Celebration Open Gaited Horse Show, to be held July 13-15, 2018, at Lone Hickory Arena in Yadkinville, NC. This show is sanctioned by Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) and the Rocky Mountain Horse Association (RMHA). It includes classes for all gaited breeds. The class list includes 122 classes, 100 regular and 22 championship classes. Each winner will be awarded a trophy, and rosette ribbons will be awarded to 6 places in all classes. Special trophies and tri-color ribbons will be awarded in championship classes. Sponsors of championship classes will have their names engraved on the trophies.
