GAME MANAGEMENT BY PITCH POSITION Green Zone: Scoring Zone Opposition 22 Orange Zone: Building Zone Our 22 to Opposition 22 Red Zone: Exit Zone Our 22 Desirable Outcome: 3,5,7 points. Hold onto possession through multiple phases work in big numbers using Tank Spear X playing the same way around the corner. Only move the ball wide when a definite opportunity presents itself. Desirable Outcome: A set piece in the scoring zone. Points. Look to attack space while defense has to cover back field. Vary attack with X and Y and look for multiple phase to stretch defense. If no progress is being made look to kick for territory and chase with green wall to fill the field. Desirable Outcome: Exit our own 22 and get a set piece in building zone. Kick to exit, use simple plays, phases should be limited to 1 or 2 maximum and work in big numbers using Tank and Spear to work a good position for the kick.

KICK CHASE POLICY: BLACK WALL WHEN THE BALL HAS BEEN KICKED THE CALL IS BLACK WALL. SEEK TO ILL THE SPACE BETWEEN THE TWO 15 METER LINES We are looking to get 7 people minimum chasing in the front line filling the space between the two 15 meter lines 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Players getting up from the break down look to fill in behind the front line to cover any line breaks 1 2 3 4 4 Players remain in the back field to cover any kicks most likely 8 9 10 15 1 2 3 4 CALLS 9 TO KICKER: NEW HAVEN BOX KICK: RED 9

DEENCE GENERAL DEENSE SYSTEM BALL IN PLAY ATER SET PIECE

DEENSE CALLS TACKLER + 1 PILLAR HUNT BALL HAMMER HAVEN PUSH This is our breakdown policy. We want as many players as possible in the defensive line so two people maximum can contest the breakdown. The tackler strike punch wrap leg drive. Bounce quickly to feet and make a nuisance of yourself. +1 is the closest person to the tackler seek to get second shoulder on in the tackle, rip the ball, release then jackle or counter ruck. Closest defender to the ruck. Watches activity at base of ruck and the 9. Calls break when ball is passed away from ruck. Smashes any pick and drives back over the top of ruck. 2nd closest defender to the ruck. Looks up for defenders in front watches the 9 for any runs. Also calls break on the ball being passed and gets hard off the line. LOOK UP, LOOK OUT, THEN GLANCE IN. 3rd closest defender to the ruck possible 4th if we double hunt. Lines up opposite 1st receiver. All other defenders number off against attackers from BALL defender. LOOK OUT IRST, THEN UP, AND ONLY EVER GLANCE IN. Defending numbers UP or MAN ON (WE HAVE MORE DEENDERS OR THE SAME AS ATTACKERS). Identified by outside defenders. Hard aggressive line speed seeking to shut attacking space down and tackle attackers as far behind gain line as possible. Defending numbers Down (WE HAVE LESS DEENDERS THEN ATTACKERS) look to come off the line and PUSH as described below. Once the ball is passed by the attacker you are marking, push the outside player onto the next player. Communicate the PUSH. This tells your teammate that you are taking responsibility for his previous attacker and he can move onto the next attacker. Identify when we are MAN ON or numbers UP again and HAMMER

DEENSIVE SHAPE AROUND THE RUCK SET: AR SIDE PILLAR. NEAR SIDE PILLAR. AR SIDE HUNT. AR SIDE BALL. NEAR SIDE HUNT. NEAR SIDE BALL. NUMBERS BELOW INDICATE THE SEQUENCE O SETTING DEENSE. SPACING: WINGSPAN SPACING AROUND THE RUCK. SPACING OUT WIDE DICTATED BY ATTACKERS. LEAVE SPACE ON THE OUTSIDE. NOTHING COMES THROUGH THE MIDDLE O US.
