From your Publications Director Wow what a crazy busy summer we have had at Sylvan Archers! We hosted the OBH State Outdoor and the Sherwood Nottingham and Sherwood Oregon teams vs. The World shoots. As well as have been busy with archery lessons for members and newcomers to the range. We elected a new board, and we congratulate Becky Jackson who has been elected as one of our new Trustee s! We are making some changes to the newsletter and adding some more features. We will now have a classified page where members can email me any archery related items they have for sale. If you send me the item, cost, a picture if you have one and your name, phone and email, I will print in the next newsletter. My deadline if the 25th of the prior month. We also want to support our club members and their businesses. So, we are going to keep a list of members we can contact for any RFP s that go out for any club maintenance work that we need to hire someone for. If you are or work for a licensed and bonded company in the categories listed below, send me an email with your information and we will keep it on file for upcoming projects we bid on. 1. Electrician 2. Plumber 3. Bldg. Contractor 4. Portable Toilet 5. Roofing contractor We also will be having a section on common archery questions and will have featured members answering questions about archery. We have targets and youth covered, but if anyone would like to answer questions about hunting, let me know and we will direct our hunting questions to you and print in the next edition. And if anyone has questions they think may be good for members to know about archery or the club etc. email me and we will get it answered in the newsletter by one of our subject matter experts! We have a lot of great ideas to help improve the club and we really want to hear from our members, so let us know what you would like to see! We have some ideas how to use the club to help bring in the target shooters as well as the hunters who enjoy the 3D s and targets. So stay tuned! We are now at 432 members up from last July at 368! So we are doing something right. We welcome Frank and Becky Pearson as lifetime members to our club and recognize them for all the help they have given us during their visit. Have a great hunting season! Kim Bishop, M.S. Publicity Director Email: kymbishop@comcast.net for contributions to the newsletter

Where else can you get free archery lessons? This is a great asset to the club so make sure to thank them when n you see them. They have put a lot of time and effort into this program and we hope to keep it alive year after year. 3-D updates. With Dave Osler and Brent Whittaker With only one more week left of the broadhead league, things are beginning to wind down and bow hunting season is upon us. We have gotten in the repair kits and will be organizing a work party to help with the repairs. We would like to see some new members come help out. Get to know other members, network, share hunting tall tales and just bond with your fellow archers. Look for an email coming soon with a time and date for the work party. The broadhead league was a big success as usual. Next year we are looking at how we can incorporate the target shooters who want to do marked 3D. We have some ideas on what we want to do, so stay tuned. This will be a great addition to our league. Not to fear, nothing will change for the broadhead shooters, but we want to incorporate our other members that shoot marked distances, so we are developing something for them as well. We are excited about some of the things we want to try in the future. You never know how things will turn out unless you give it a shot! Happy Hunting and stay tuned for more to come.

Archery Classifieds... Here is where we will have the archery classifieds. 1. It would be helpful if you submit a picture, but it is not required. 2. A detailed description of the item for sale, price, your contact information. The club is not responsible for the integrity of the club member or the sales, we are strictly a vehicle to help other club members do business together. Only club members may put archery related items for sale here. Club Fundraiser.. Back in June we featured new members the Hill family who owns www.grandeur-wood.com. They raffled off one of their beautiful chairs and a family membership to Sylvan Archers. We are proud to say they raised $236 for the club! So please make sure you thank them for their continued support of the club! You can see them helping out at events as well so make sure to say hello. The winner of the chair was: Barb Van Winkle and the club membership goes to: Kat Simpson. You stop by their booth at many of the local farmer s markets and thank them for their support and maybe even purchase your very own piece of custom made wood furniture!

It s all about NFAA Nationals and Sylvan Members! Congratulations to the Sylvan Members who participated in the National NFAA Outdoor Tournament in Darrington, WA last week!
