DJOKOVIC Not since a Futures event on the clay courts of Bergamo, Italy in April 2004 has Gael Monfils defeated Novak Djokovic. The Frenchman gets his 14th chance to do so on the ATP World Tour when he plays in his first grass-court final at the Aegon International on Saturday. Djokovic has won 18 consecutive matches against Frenchmen and 55 of 56 dating back to the 2010 Davis Cup final. Djokovic vs. Monfils is just the second ATP World Tour final between wild cards since 2004 (also No. 1 seed David Ferrer vs. No. 2 seed Andy Murray at 2014 Vienna). There are six second round and four quarter-final matches on the schedule. Top seed and World No. 4 Novak Djokovic leads the way and he takes on American Donald Young in the quarter-finals. In the first match on Centre, British wild card Cameron Norrie and No. 2 seed Gael Monfils resume their second round match with the Frenchman leading 6-3, 2-1. Monfils reached the semifinals in Nottingham in his last tournament visit in 2008. Norrie is a 21-year-old left-hander who is coming off a successful college season at Texas Christian University. He finished as the top-ranked collegiate player in the U.S. He is trying to reach his first ATP World Tour quarter-final in his second tournament. In the next match on, Djokovic looks for his second win against Young. In their previous meeting in the 1R at the 2006 US Open, Djokovic won in four sets. Tiafoe is making his grass-court debut after reaching a new career-high ranking nine times in 2017. 10) Bryans Return: Bob and Mike Bryan signed in on site and will make just their second Aegon International appearance as a team. The No. 1 seeds count 2003 Nottingham among their record 112 titles. However, they have not won a title since Rome in May 2016. The twins have played in 22 events since then, their longest drought since first lifting a championship trophy at 2001 Memphis.
