Questions from the Committee

How many parking spaces are existing on Elm Street and Pecan Street? How many will be created? How many single family residences front Elm Street? There are 26 existing parking spaces on Elm Street; 265 will be created. There are 10 single family residences that front Elm Street between the intersection of FM 1709 and Pecan Street. There are 74 parking spaces on Pecan Street.

How many parking spaces are existing along Lamar St./west of US 377? How many will be created with the proposed improvements? Existing parking spaces in Old Town on the west side of US 377, including all existing parking lots, is 265. Total proposed parking spaces with proposed extension of Lamar Street from Hill Street south to Pecan Street, then on Pecan Street and on Olive Street extension will be 451. This equals 451 total spaces.

Response from TXDOT regarding a pedestrian crossing if a traffic signal is installed at Pecan St. TXDOT stated a pedestrian crossings on US 377 is possible at a signalized intersection. They would consider an underpass or overpass pedestrian crossing at the city s cost and city s long term maintenance.
