What have CGI achieved in Phase One? Created and evaluated a nationwide survey Visited each and every affiliated club in Ireland Created links between schools and clubs through the Get into Golf with Rory Programme Developed and delivered Business Development and support services Implemented a range of recruitment and retention initiatives Developed a number of practical resources for Clubs outlining Best Practice models
Get into Golf Phase One 213 programmes have successfully been delivered to 5,988 participants, which has resulted in 3,581 people converting to Golf Club membership.
Awareness Days Phase One 27,905 people (80% juniors) have received their first taste of golf through awareness days held in: Schools Colleges Golf Events Community Festivals
Safeguarding Phase One CGI are committed to helping Golf Clubs make their activities safe for young people whilst encouraging them to reach their full potential. Since 2014, 587 people have attended Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness Courses across the country 1,438 people have been vetted through Garda Vetting or Access NI
Club Services Phase One The introduction of dedicated Support Officers has seen the Business of Golf become a core focus for CGI: Advanced Business and Strategic Planning with clubs nationwide Extensive Club Reviews covering Governance, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Membership Customer Service and much more Demand led presentations and workshops Nationwide Networking Seminars National Educational Events

Safeguarding 2017 Under Golf s Safeguarding Policy supported by Sport Ireland and Sport NI it is now required that each Golf Club has a Safeguarding Policy in place. In addition to this clubs should: Complete appropriate Vetting Checks Sign Code of Conducts annually (leaders, juniors, parents) Appoint a Club Children s Officer and Designated Liaison Person Arrange appropriate training for all those working with juniors Communicate Safeguarding procedures to staff, coaches, volunteers, parents, members & juniors More details can be found by visiting: http://www.cgigolf.org/safeguarding/
