The women s squad is playing at the 6,202-yard, par-72 Finkbine Golf Club. Joining the Jackrabbits in the 13-team field are Ball State, Drake, Iowa State, Illinois, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Sacramento State, Washington State; Summit League school Oakland; and the host Hawkeyes. This week s SDSU line-up includes juniors Whitney Schrader (Marshalltown, Iowa) and Sydney Sturdevant (Sioux Falls), sophomores Brittany Hanten (Goodwin) and Rebecca Swords (Rosemount, Minn.), and freshman Morgan Fitts (Brookings). Senior Kyle Vandevoort (Fargo) is competing as an individual. W HAT S NEXT: The women s squad wraps up the fall season at the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines G.C. (Rollins College) on Oct. 26-27 in Southern Pines, N.C. MEN S RECAP: SDSU tied for 10th at the D.A. Wiebring Intercollegiate, hosted by Illinois State on Oct. 11-12 at the 6,881-yard, par-70 Weibring Golf Club at ISU. The Jacks shot 918 (306-305-307). Justin Jenkins finished in a tie for 17th at 226 (76-76-74). It was his 10th career top-25. Nolan Meyer tied for 26th at 228 (77-75-76), Kyle Vandevoort tied for 48th at 232 (79-75-78), Parker Edens tied for 54th at 234 (74-79-81) and Matthew Erickson tied for 72nd at 239 (79-81-79). Host Illinois State won the team title by 15 shots after shooting 33-over-par 873 (293-286-294). Redbird Jeff Kellen won the individual title by six with a 1-under 209 (72-68-69) total. Fifteen teams and 90 individuals competed in the event. WOMEN S RECAP: SDSU broke the 18-, 36- and 54-hole scoring records and tied for ninth at the Xavier International, played Oct. 9-11 at the 6,087-yard, par-72 LPGA International-Legends Course. The Jacks shot 935 (303-311-321). Sydney Sturdevant (76-78-78) and Morgan Fitts (77-75-80) finished tied for 34th at 232, Rebecca Swords took 44th at 235 (75-82-78), Whitney Schrader tied for 59th at 243 (75-79-89) and Brittany Hanten tied for 62nd at 244 (80-79-85). Daytona State, a junior college playing on its home course, won the team title by seven shots with a 17-over 881 (295-288-298) total. Falcon Amy West fininshed six shots clear of the field and was medalist with a three-round tally of 3-under 213 (73-70-70). Fifteen teams and 81 individuals competed in the event.

Kyle Vandevoort is sixth with a 78.13 mark (4,219 strokes in 54 rounds). In order to be eligible, golfers must compete in at least 30 career rounds. W OMEN S SCORING AVERAGE: Whitney Schrader is fifth on the all-time scoring list with an 83.52 average (4,844 strokes in 58 rounds). In order to be eligible, golfers must compete in at least 30 career rounds. MEN S ROUNDS PLAY ED: Justin Jenkins (78 rounds) and Kyle Vandevoort (54) are third and seventh, respectively, on the all-time list, and are by far the most experienced players on the roster. Brian Wynia has the next most with 17. WOMEN S ROUNDS PLAYED: Whitney Schrader, who has never missed an event and played in 58 career rounds, is on pace to break the school record of 79 set by Holly Opatz (2005-09), a senior on last season s team. Schrader and Opatz are among five golfers the others are former Jacks Amanda Rosol (2nd all-time with 76 rounds), Hillary Gerster (6th, 41) and Erin Bergstrom (tie-7th, 40) to compete in every event during the 2007-08 season and hold the record for rounds played in a season with 25. Four other Jacks are nearing the career 30-round mark: Rebecca Swords (29 rounds), Sydney Sturdevant (28), Brittany Hanten (24) and Abby Feehan (21).
