This is a great way to get the month started off. On Saturday, October 9th, there will be a District meeting here at Tehachapi. WOTM will be providing lunch and also, on Saturday evening WOTM will be serving a Chicken Parmesan/pasta/salad dinner for $7. and on October 16th Tehachapi LOOM will be hosting Officer s Training from 8AM to 4PM. See our new Administrators article for further details. Also on the 16th, Rick Nolasco & Sam Guerra are celebrating their birthdays with a party at the lodge. All are invited. There will be munchies and dancing to the sounds of Bob Haggard and the Time Machine. The big thing this month is the Halloween Prom to be held on Friday, October 29th. Guys and gals, get out your best tuxes and prom dresses, add a little Ghoul and come join us. There will be dinner served and dancing to Denim follows. We will be raffling off a hand made quilt by Sr. Regent, Shirley Murphy (for real). Are you interested in playing 31 or learning how to play? Mary Hisaw is going to host a game on Saturday, October 23rd. at 4 PM in the. Come on down. If we get enough interest we may make this a regular happening. Just a reminder that we are open at 10AM every weekday and Dawn Harrison is our volunteer barkeep most days. Since we are open, you should think about coming down for a cup of coffee, a bit of socializing, maybe a card game or two, or a midday movie. We are still offering Sunday morning Breakfast at 9 AM for $5. This is not just a pancake breakfast, it s bacon/sausage/ eggs/biscuits/toast/gravy/potatoes...all the goodies, cooked to order. Of course, the Thursday night On the Grill dinners with for Karaoke continues and everyday, if your looking for a snack, there are hot dogs going in the ~ so come on down and be social. **** And don t forget to check the board in the lobby for up to date info on what s happening!

Our thoughts and prayers are with these families. But, on the good side, Randy Harrison has recently been through two eye surgeries on suspected tumors which turned out to be benign and he is recovering nicely. Mountain Moose Call Page 4 TEHACHAPI NEWEST FELLOW AT 7:30 a.m. on Saturday Morning September 11, 2010 at the Annual California/Nevada Moose Association Convention in Palm Springs, more then 100 Fellows and Pilgrims of the Order gathered for breakfast and the Conferral of the Fellowship Degree on 33 Moose Legionnaires. Among those be elevated to the Second Degree of The Loyal Order Of Moose was Tehachapi Moose Family Centers own Arthur Vasquez Jr. Art was sponsored by his Father Arthur Vasquez Sr. and enrolled in the Tehachapi Moose Lodge #1678 on May 17, 1986. He has been active not only in the Lodge, but also in the Central California Moose Legion # 176, The Golden Valley District #12, and the California/Nevada Moose Association. He has held many committee and leadership positions at the Lodge, Moose Legion and District levels, including Lodge Governor, Moose Legion President, and District President, a position in which also served on the Association Executive Committee. Others from Tehachapi Lodge who attended the Conferral were Fellows, John Hughes, Tom Wysocki and Pilgrim, Bob Bakman. CONGRATULATIONS to you ART and THANK YOU for your long and continued service. Thanks also John Hughes for the roses for all the women. Now is the time to start planning for the Halloween party. We are having a Ghoulish Prom on Friday the 29th. Hopefully it will be Friday Night Fright Night. Denim will be playing for dancing. Dawn Harrison will be planning the dinner. Also, on October 31st we are having a Haunted House in conjunction with Trunk or Treat here in town. Donations of candy and treats are needed to have to hand out to everyone joining in.
