DIVISION DESCRIPTIONS Day & Year End Awards in All Divisions! ALL STIRRUP - Open to all ages. Green Horses & Ponies welcome! Trotting Fences Allowed.. Simple lead changes will not be penalized. Fences 18 in height. ELEMENTARY - Open to all ages. Fences 2 in height. Simple lead changes will not be penalized. LEAD LINE RIDER - Open to riders of all ages who require a leader. Therapeutic riders welcome. Leaders must be 14 or older. WALK-TROT OPEN - For riders of all ages & disciplines, no professionals. To be shown at walk & trot. Rider may not cross-enter into any class required to canter. LESSON HORSE & PONY - Open to all our wonderful lesson horses & ponies. To be shown at a walk & trot only, no age requirements. Rider may not cross-enter into any class required to canter. GREEN HORSE & PONY - Open to horses & ponies in their 1 st or 2 nd year of showing. To be shown at a walk & trot only. The horse itself is not judged on its conformation. You will be judged on how well you show your horse to its best advantage, with additional scoring for the grooming and presentation of both horse and handler. Great Class for 4-H Members! HORSEMANSHIP CLASSES Combination of Equitation & Pleasure. Individual or Group Tests will be asked. Ground Poles may be included. HACK CLASSES Combination of Flat & 2 Fences. RULES & REGULATIONS BAD WEATHER NO PROBLEM, WE HAVE YOU COVERED IN OUR INDOOR ARENA! Point System: 1 st 7 2 nd 5 3 rd 4 4 th 3 5 th 2 6 th 1 All riders, trainers and lesson facilities please take notice We strive to keep our shows affordable for everyone! We emphasize proper horse show etiquette within a safe, relaxed and fun atmosphere! 1) Show begins at 9am. Rings & Secretary s booth open at 7:30. Call for any cancellations or changes. 2) The judge s decision is final. No exhibitor or person shall approach the judge unless they first obtain permission from the show manager. Any exhibitor or person disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries & forfeit entry fees. Classes will be split per Judge s discretion. 3) The show committee reserves the right to vary or change show officials or judges, to decline any entry, & to combine or cancel any class if there are less than 3 entries. 4) Journey s Haven shall not be held responsible for any accident or loss which may occur to an exhibitor, spectator, guest, rider, groom, attendant, or any other employee, animal or equipment. 5) For everyone s safety when mounted, ALL riders are required to wear protective head gear. 6) For everyone s safety - NO DOGS or OTHER ANIMALS ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES PLEASE. 7) Schooling & lunging is permitted in authorized areas only. $30.00 is charged for any horse using our rings and not showing. The jumping warm-ups are not allowed unless the horse is entered in our show. 8) Any horse or rider entered & not exhibited shall forfeit fees, unless the show committee is presented with a veterinary or physician certificate. A $20.00 service fee will be charged per transaction. 9) Proof of Negative Coggins required by MA State Law. 10) Points are applied towards rider only. This allows you to ride a different horse at each show. Riders must compete in 5 shows to qualify for Year End Awards. 11) Walk-trot riders & Green Horses/Ponies may NOT crossenter into FLAT classes required to CANTER. Exception Frank Mello Open Pleasure Class and All Stirrup O/F classes, as trotting the fences is allowed. 12) ATTIRE: No Jacket, no problem but dressing conservatively is desired. Smooth black leather half chaps also allowed. Braiding is always optional. 13) Horses that require special equipment are always welcome. (Example - Bitless Bridles, Hackamores, Easy Boots, Anti- Grazing Reins, Standing or Running Martingales allowed in O/F classes only) No Tie Downs, German Martingales or Draw Rein type equipment allowed while competing however schooling with it is allowed. 14) JUMPING WARM-UP: Held as indicated on class list! Please be courteous to warm-up in a timely fashion. Riders must be ENTERED IN A JUMPING CLASS & must have a NUMBER to enter the ring! 15) Pre-Entries (3 classes must be entered) and must be received by 6pm the FRIDAY before the show with an open check or some type of payment. 16) CREDIT CARDS WELCOME! 5% convenience fee added. Checks made payable to Journey s Haven or JHRS. **Returned Check Fee $30.00 17) Trainer s Appreciation Award: Bring 6 or more students & receive a gift from us! Trainers must be present at each show. Riders must also be entered in 4 classes.
