2018 IE La Grande Spooktacular Swim Meet October 27-28, 2018 Held under Sanction of United States Swimming, Inc. and Inland Empire Swimming, Inc., Sanction #IE 18-1368 In granting this sanction it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Inland Empire Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone camera, is not allowed in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. Deck Changing is prohibited: Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. Registration numbers must accompany the master entries. Age on the first day of the meet determines the age group to enter. NO DECK ENTRIES PERMITTED EXCEPT AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MEET REFEREE. Current United States Swimming rules will govern the meet. The rules and procedures of Inland Empire Swimming will also apply. Inland Empire scratch rules will be in effect. In-water starts required for the 25 yard events and at the 2 nd and 4 th legs of the 100 yard relays. Events will be timed finals and will be swum slowest to fastest. The meet referee shall be the final authority for the conduct of the competition. Any protests or questions concerning the outcome of an event should be directed to the Meet Referee by the coach of that team. Swimmers participating without a coach must report to the meet referee at the start of the warm-up session for instructions. Coaches must be 2018 USA Swimming members. Coaches must provide proof of certification upon request by the meet referee. Athletes with a disability are welcome; requests for accommodations for any disabled swimmer should be directed to the Meet Referee and the Admin Official prior to the meet. Swimmers may enter a maximum of four (4) events and one (1) relay per day on Saturday and Sunday. Meet limited to 250 swimmers with the first 250 entries received having priority. The order of events may be revised to a split meet format and/or events may be combined at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Positive check in may be required for the 1000 and 400 IM; at the discretion of the Meet Referee, the number of heats and entries of NT swimmers for the 1000 and 400 IM may be limited. Print to file (Word or PDF format) of meet fees due Facility: Indoor, 25 yard, 8 lane pool. Starting blocks in the deep end only. Pool depth is 4 4 to 9 1. Warm up pool will be available if more than 150 swimmers enter the meet. Swim venue includes: Men s and Women s locker rooms with access onto the pool deck. Open pool deck areas available to the swimmers coaches and officials only. Facility is accessible to adaptive swimmers. Seating for 150 spectators. Lifeguards will be on duty at all times during warm-ups and during the meet. Meet marshalls will be on deck for warmups and monitoring the warmup pool. Coaches will be given one warning of swimmers violating any safety rules in the warm up pool or within the venue. On the second violation, the offending swimmer will be scratched from the duration of the meet. Timing System: Daktronics Omnisport 2000 Electronic timing system with 8 Lane Electronic scoreboard. Timers: Schedule: Each team will be asked to provide timers. All timers are to report to the Chief Timer at the clerk of course s table 10 minutes prior to the start of the meet. Swimmers must provide their own lap counters for the 1000 Freestyle. Saturday: Warm-up 12 & Under 8:30 9:00 A.M. Warm-up 13 & Over 9:00 9:45 A.M Officials meeting will be held 9:00 A.M. Coaches meeting will be held at 9:45 A.M. Meet begins promptly at 10:00 A.M. Sunday: Warm-up 12 & Under 7:30 8:00 A.M. Warm-up 13 & Over 8:00 8:45 A.M Officials meeting will be held 8:00 A.M. Coaches meeting will be held at 8:45 A.M. Meet begins promptly at 9:00 A.M. Awards: Individual: Ribbons 1 st 12 th Relays: Ribbons 1st 6 th High Point: Each age group, Boy/Girl based on individual events, not relays.
Scoring: Scoring will be done by individual age groups (8 & U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & Over), and those points count towards individual high point. Relays may be swum as combined age groups, relay point will not count towards individual high point. There will be no A/B distinction. Relay awards will be given by grouping (12 and Under, 13 and Over). Individual scoring will be to 12 th place, relays to 6 th place.
