The Cubs took a circuitous route to their winning 10-game homestand the Cubs began by winning the first five games with a three-game sweep of the St. Louis and taking the first two games against Miami before dropping that series finale and losing the first three games of their series with Colorado the Cubs yesterday won the series finale against the Rockies, 7-5. Yesterday ended a stretch in which the Cubs played 19 of 25 games at Wrigley Field starting today, the Cubs play 17 of their next 20 games on the road through July 2, as the Cubs next six series will be played in six different ballparks (at New York, at Pittsburgh, vs. San Diego, at Miami, at Washington and at Cincinnati). The Cubs enter tonight s game having dropped eight road games in a row on the road, as the club s last road victory was a month ago today, a 3-2 win in St. Louis on May 12 the Cubs have lost eight-straight road games for the first time since August 19-September 6, 2012, also an eight-game skid. The Cubs have also lost their last six games at Citi Field, as they endured a fourgame sweep here last season and dropped two games in the 2015 National League Championship Series prior to this skid, the Cubs had won five games in a row here from August 17, 2014-July 2, 2015 that streak included a threegame sweep here from June 30-July 2, 2015. The Cubs this season are 7-13 against the N.L. West, 18-11 against the N.L. Central, 5-2 against the N.L. East and 1-5 against the A.L.
