ELIZABETH FORWARD ICE BREAKER 7 V 7 BOYS HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT Dear Coach, The Elizabeth Forward Boys Soccer Boosters would like to invite your Boy s High School Soccer Team to participate in our 2018 Ice Breaker 7 v 7 soccer tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 17 th at Elizabeth Forward High School. The entry fee for the tournament will be $200 for first team entered. The fee will be $175 if you would like to enter additional teams. Teams will be accepted on a first-come; first serve basis. It is anticipated that this will be a 20-24 team tournament. Register early to ensure a spot. It is anticipated that this tournament will attract A, AA, and AAA teams from around the area. Please send the check and entry form by Friday, February 23th. Registrations are non-refundable. Make checks payable to: Elizabeth Forward Boys Soccer Boosters. Food and refreshments will be available at our concession stand throughout the day. Rules, schedules, and insurance forms will be sent out after all the teams have been accepted. Note: No select teams will be allowed to play in the tournament. All players should attend the school that they are representing. Only players who are eligible for the fall of 2018 season can play. The first 20 teams will be accepted. There will be 5-6 divisions of 4 teams. The games will be 18 minutes long. (NO HALF-TIME) The top 2 teams in each division will advance to playoffs. Team trophies and individual medals will be awarded to the 1 st and 2 nd place teams. There will be 6 players plus a goalkeeper on the field at a time. ELIZABETH FORWARD ICE BREAKER 7V7 RULES General Rules 1. Abusive language, unsportsmanlike behavior, fighting and unnecessary roughness by players or coaches will not be tolerated, and may be cause for ejection from the tournament. 2. This is an undergraduate tournament only players eligible for the fall 2017 season are eligible. 3. Team rosters are limited to (12) players. Players cannot be on more than one team with the exception of a team that registers more than one team, one goalkeeper may be dual-rostered but that player may only play as goalkeeper on both teams. 4. The Players: Six (6) field players and (1) goalkeeper. 5. Uniforms: All team members must have the same color jersey. In the event of a color conflict, the team listed first will change colors, (we will have vests available if you have no alternate jersey). Game Rules 1. F.I.F.A. outdoor rules will apply except as noted. 2. Game times will be 18 minutes with a running clock kept on the field by the referee. 3. No stoppage time will be added unless there is a significant injury. The referee will notify both coaches if this happens. 4. Kickoff will be determined by a coin flip by the referee, before each game. 5. Goalkeepers may not punt or drop kick. They may distribute the ball by throwing or playing it with their feet. 6. There will be no offside. 7. Substitutions will be made on the fly. The player being subbed for must be out of play before the substitute players enters the field of play. 8. Kickoffs are indirect kicks. On kickoffs the ball need not go forward. 9. All kicks are to be indirect, except penalty and corner kicks, which will be direct. 10. All balls out of bounds will be returned to play as indirect kicks, with the exception of corner kicks which are direct. There are no throw- ins. 11. If a player receives a yellow card, the team will play short for 1 minute. 12. A red card is an ejection from the game and the team will play one (1) player down for the remainder of their game. The player with the red card will not be eligible to play the following game. If a player receives a second red card, they will be ineligible for the remainder of the tournament. 13. If a coach is ejected from a game, it will be up to the referee s decision whether to continue play or result in forfeiture of the game.
Scoring Bracket Play Bracket games may end in a TIE. Each Bracket team will receive 3 points= WIN; 1 point = TIE; 0 point = LOSS. If two or more teams have the same number of points, use the following to resolve tie in this order. (With three-way tie head-to-head cannot be used). 1. Head-to-Head 2. Least Goals Against 3. Goal Differential (more positive number better) (Win is + differential; Loss is differential) 4. Goals for (Max 4 goals per game) 5. Most # of shutouts 6. Least # of Cards 7. PK Shootout Playoff Games Same rules as above apply EXCEPT there can be no TIE. In the event of a TIE, the following tiebreakers will be used. Drop ball at centerline to start sudden death period. 1. 5-minute sudden death with keeper 2. 5-minute sudden death with one less player (5 v 5 plus keeper) 3. 2-minute sudden death victory without keeper (6 v 6) 4. Consecutive 2-minute sudden death with one less player down to 2 vs 2 5. Victory Shootout. Winner will be determined after any unequal round.
