Some of the lines will be spoken in form of call and response. 1 Rome Awaits Caesar Prior to cast entering stage One at a time 7 of 11 cast take seats on stage BRUTUS enters Stage Left shakes hands with cast seated onstage. BRUTUS then sits down 2 Caesar s entry Hark, who approaches? 'Tis Caesar Great Caesar Hail Great Caesar Hail Great Caesar Hail Hail hail hail! FIRST BODYGUARD enters Stage Right stands by piano stool in centre of stage Then SECOND BODYGUARD enters Stage Left stands piano stool Finally CAESAR enters and sits on piano stool Rome welcomes Caesar and thanks him for his victories FIRST MUSICIAN comes and gives Caesar flowers and says Thank you Returns to seat SECOND MUSICIAN comes and gives Caesar shield and says Thank you Returns to seat Beloved wife, Calpurnia CALPURNIA enters and embraces Caesar then returns to seat Good Brutus BRUTUS enters. Caesar and enters shake hands then returns to seat Brave Mark Antony MARK ANTONY enters. Caesar and Mark Antony shake hands then face audience - 1 -
Hail, hail, hail! 3 Soothsayer Hark Caesar! Who approaches? Tis the Soothsayer SOOTHSAYER enters and shows Caesar calendar book Caesar beware! SOOTHSAYER shows audience inside of book Caesar beware! SOOTHSAYER shows Caesar inside of book Caesar beware! Soldiers take him away! CAESAR and MARK ANTONY direct Bodyguards to take Soothsayer to seat 4 Good Brutus BRUTUS enters and sits on piano stool Good Brutus, Awake! FIRST CONSPIRATOR comes up to Brutus Caesar is too great! Good Brutus, Awake! SECOND CONSPIRATOR comes up to Brutus Caesar wishes to be king! Good Brutus Awake! We must strike and redress! Caesar must die! We will bring Caesar to the Capitol BRUTUS and CONSPIRATORS shake hands and exit 5 Calpurnia and Caesar Caesar shall go to the Capitol CAESAR enters and sits on piano stool - 2 -

FIRST CONSPRIATOR enters and stands by Caesar Hail! Great Caesar! SECOND CONSPIRATOR enters and stands by Caesar Hail! Great Caesar! BRUTUS enters and stands by Caesar Hail! Caesar we must strike and redress Caesar must die! BRUTUS and CONSPIRATORS kill Caesar CAESAR falls to floor and is covered in shroud by Brutus and Conspirators Romans at last we are free! Liberty! BRUTUS and CONSPIRATORS shake hands then exit 7 Mark Antony s speech MARK ANTONY enters, very sad and stands at Caesar s body Friends, Romans, Countrymen Lend me your ears Caesar was a good man - 3 -
Romans, These gifts he gives to you MARK ANTONY now gives the flower and shield, previously given to Caesar earlier, to other cast members Hail! Hail! Hail! MARK ANTONY returns to seat We must revenge Caesar s death We must. Brutus must die! 8 Civil War CAESAR rises from his grave as a GHOST and returns to his seat CONSPIRATORS drag SOOTHSAYER front of stage as song is repeated To our enemies we must Our enemies must die! CONSPIRATORS kill Soothsayer They shake hands and return to seats SOOTHSAYER lies onstage motionless 9 Brutus and Caesar s Ghost BRUTUS enters, helps Soothsayer to feet and guides him gently to his seat - 4 -
BRUTUS sits on piano stool Lots of wind and ghost sounds How ill the taper burns. Hark who approaches? Caesar as GHOST walks around back of circle of seats. Stands centre up-stage and points to Brutus Brutus, beware! GHOST walks to around back of circle to front left of stage. Again points to Brutus Brutus, beware! GHOST walks up to Brutus, still sitting on piano stool Brutus, beware! Away foul ghost! GHOST returns to seat Brutus now in despair Oh how far my fortune falls! 10 Brutus Death Caesar s BODYGUARDS one at a time and then MARK ANTONY surround Brutus while he remains seated on piano stool GHOST enters and points at Brutus Brutus we must strike and redress Our enemies must die! MARK ANTONY pulls Brutus to the floor, dead Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Brutus was a good man, But now Brutus is dead. We must now live in peace! - 5 -
