WEVSC Ranch Rodeo General Rules Committee will draw team positions and cattle numbers prior to rodeo. Last event positions will be based on team time. 1. Contestants must wear long sleeve shirts, cowboy hats and boots. 2. No smoking or alcohol in arena. 3. No unsportsmanlike conduct. 4. No roughing or abusing stock. Judges decisions are final. 5. Cattle must be behind the line before whistle blows. 6. Cattle must cross line before animal can be roped. Once cattle crosses the line they can be roped anywhere in the arena (even if it returns to the starting area). 7. There will be a 2 minute time limit per event. 8. Contestants must not interfere with other team or they will be disqualified, this is under the discretion of the judges on ropes hitting each other. 9. Contestants cannot carry spare ropes on saddle. Maximum 35 ft rope only. 10. If an event is stopped because of an accident or injury, there will be a 30 second penalty and teams will restart lap and tap. 11. If contestant is unable to compete due to injury, the team must use existing members only, or compete with three members. If the event requires four members/riders one contestant must ride twice for injured member. Rider cannot ride consecutively. 12. When there are two teams competing head to head, teams do not have to sort behind the line, but they cannot rope the steer until it crosses the line. Must not interfere with the other teams designated steer, if a team member is purposefully interfering with other teams designated steer their team will be disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. 13. Any illegal head catch rope must be thrown away. 14. Entry fees must be paid before the first event or the team will not be allowed to compete. 15. There will be a 30 sec penalty for roping behind the barrier. *In case of a tie for the overall winner, the tie breaker will be decided with timed shovel race.

WEVSC Team Mugging 1. Any number of members may be mounted for the event. All stock will be numbered and designated number will be announced. Two teams will participate at a time. One in each roping box. 2. The designated steers will be turned out of chute. Giving a 5 second head start. The flag will be dropped and whistle blown. Teams will rope or bulldog steer and tie steer in a three bone cross. If bulldogged the rope must be thrown before you dismount. 3. Any member dismounting a horse must throw entire rope, loop, coils and tail on the ground before dismounting or the team will be disqualified. 4. No more than 3 legs can be tied. Roper cannot trip, bust, or drag the steer. (3 bone cross tie) 5. If there is an illegal catch and rope has been thrown away and the animal has been roped with a legal catch, only the legal catch rope must be removed before flagged can be dropped. (The illegal rope has been declared dead.) 6. Time will stop when the head rope is removed and the tie is completed. Steer must remain tied for 6 seconds or the team will be disqualified. 7. Teams will heard steers into north calf pens when both teams have finished event or 2 minute whistle has been blown.

WEVSC Wild Cow Milking 1. All cattle in the arena will be numbered prior to the rodeo. All cattle will be held at one end of the arena behind a chalk line. 2. When a number is announced and the whistle is blown the team will chase their cow across the line before roping. Once the cow has crossed the line it can be roped any place in the arena. (Even if it returns to the starting area.) 3. Team may use as many ropes as needed. Catch as catch can milk in designated container. The bottle will then be delivered on foot into circle next to judge. 4. Time stops when milk jug is in circle. NOTE: There must be enough milk in the bottle to be poured out by the judge. One drop is enough. No roughing of livestock will be tolerated.

WEVSC Trailer Relay Race 1. Two pens in the arena, each with 4 saddled and bridled horses in and the panels latched. All team members are standing by the respective pens with both hands on the panels. Judges will instruct where team members will start and finish. 2. The time will start when the whistle is blown. All contestants race around the pen and unload their horses from the panels. 3. The first rider makes a lap around the arena with the saddlebag. The rider must ride outside of the barrel on the other end of the arena. They must enter their designated area between the pen and their barrel. When the rider reaches the designated area behind the pen (area may be marked with chalk or barrel) the team member hands the saddlebag to the next rider and so on.. 4. Contestants can load their horses as they finish their laps. Time will stop when all contestants have completed a lap, loaded their horses, and returned to the starting point. All riders must have both hands on the panel before time will stop. Then the judges will verify panel is latched. 5. No contestants will be standing, mounting, or dismounting outside of their own designated area or barrel. If this happens the team is disqualified. If team members ride inside the opposing teams area the team will be disqualified. 6. If the saddlebag is dropped inside the exchange area, any team member may hand the saddlebag off to the rider. If it is dropped outside the exchange area, the ride must retrieve the saddlebag him/herself. The saddlebag must be passed in the exchange area only. *pens will be labeled for odd and even teams.

WEVSC Trailer Loading 1. All cattle in the arena will be numbered prior to rodeo. All cattle will be held at one end of the arena with the pens at the opposite end. 2. When a number is announced and the whistle is blown, the team will chase animal across the line before roping. Once the animal has crossed the line it can be roped anywhere in the arena (even if it returns to the starting area). The animal can be roped and loading in designated pens. The panels cannot be opened till the animal is roped with a legal head catch. 3. Must have a legal head catch. Illegal head catches must be thrown away immediately, if not thrown away immediately, team will be disqualified. 4. Any member dismounting their horse must throw entire rope, loop, coils and tail on the ground before dismounting or the team will be disqualified. 5. Time will stop when the panels are closed and latched with only the designated animal in the pen. No team members or horses can be in the pen when the time is called. **No excessive abuse of cattle will be tolerated. Teams will be disqualified if the rule is not followed. *Any number of team members may be mounted.

WEVSC Kid Sled Race 1. Two team members will be mounted for this event. One team member will be seated in the calf sled. One team member will be standing. (2 horses will be used) 2. Kid is staked at opposite end of arena. 3. One judge will flag at starting point and one judge will flag once kid is staked properly by second group of team participants. 4. All 4 members must participate. 5. Time will be 2 minute limit. 6. If rider drops rope, rider must dismount and retrieve the rope and remount. 7. When the whistle is blown, the first two team members will go to the kid with one team member riding and the other team member in the calf sled. 8. The kid must ride with the seated member in the calf sled to the starting point. 9. If the Kid gets away the rider must stop and the other team member retrieve the kid. Once the member retrieves and is seated again in the calf sled with the kid, the rider may go again. 10. Once back to starting point, the kid must be handed off to next rider and seated participant. This second group of participants will ride to opposite end and properly re-stake the kid. 11. Time will stop after kid is returned to stake by second set of participants and kid is staked properly, and judge drops flag. ** Depending on conditions of arena, judges may decide to have two riders at the same time pulling the calf sled.
