We are in need of candy donations if you are able to contribute, please send store bought & wrapped candy to the front office. Message from PTO The Boosterthon Fun Run was a big success! Thank you to all of the volunteers, family and friends that came out to cheer on our students. While we didn't reach our goal, if we collect 100%, of our pledges, we will have raised over $16,000 for our school! Please send in pledge payments as soon as possible. Another big thank you to Mrs. Thomas and Ms. Melton for dressing up at Sumo Wrestlers! The kids loved it! Go Wildcats! Flower Sale Upcoming Events 10/12 Teacher Workday No School Our annual Fall Flower Sale is coming up on October 13 th & 14 th from 1:30-6pm outside of the gym. We will have the pre-orders ready and a limited number of additional plants for purchase. We've had our most successful flower sale pre-order to date! Thank you to everyone who ordered plants. 10/13 & 10/14 Fall Flower Sale pick up 10/15 Spirit Night! Corn Maze 6pm-10pm 10/21 Monster Mash Dance 10/25 Spirit Night! Chick-fil-a @ Indian Trail 4-8pm 10/26 Wonderful Wednesday 11/1 Prize baskets due from 2 nd grade classes (ask room parents for more information)

Spirit Night! Wonderful Wednesday Our 1 st Spirit Night of the year will be October 15 th at Country Days Corn Maze from 6-10pm. Let s have some fun finding our way through the maze! We have reserved the bonfire so feel free to bring hotdogs and marshmallows to roast. Tickets will be on sale soon and more information will be provided. 4 th and 5 th graders, along with PTO, will be hosting a luncheon for our staff on the 26th. Volunteers will be needed to assist in the cafeteria during lunch. If you are interested in volunteering, please email PTO fvespto@gmail.com Please join us at Chick-fil-A in Indian Trail on 10/25 from 4-8pm for our 2 nd Spirit Night! Flip Flops Needed! The front office is in need of flip flops (especially adult sizes) because occasionally, students will come to the office with broken shoes and have none to replace them without calling a parent to bring a new pair. Please help the Wildcat Wardrobe closet by donating flip flops! Thank you!!!

Staff Spotlight for October Ms. Whitley 3 rd Grade Teacher Hometown: Yuma, Arizona Favorite restaurant: Firebirds Where you went to college: Meredith College Name of your 3rd grade teacher: Mrs. Vallence How many years at Fairview: This is my 12 th year at Fairview. City you want to visit the most: Florence, Italy Favorite thing to do outside of school: Spend time with my horse, JoJo Most rewarding part of being a teacher: Seeing my kids after they have left Fairview and they still remember me! Favorite sport/team to watch on TV: Tie between the Carolina Hurricanes (ice hockey), NC State (college football), and Carolina Panthers (pro football) Why did you become a teacher? I love working with kids! I also love learning new things. Our curriculum is always changing, so I am constantly getting to learn something new to teach my children. Silliest fact about you: I can make my eyes wiggle. I used to do it in front of my sister and brother to gross them out! Which staff member would you like to spotlight next month?
