Our Fall retreat is September 9-10-11. We have 30+ signed up for us. That is wonderful. Also in October is our big fundraiser, BUNCO will be Saturday, October 15th from 1pm-4pm. It is $15.00 per person. Doors will open at 12:30pm. We would like our helpers there by 10:30. Hopefully, that will give you time to have a bite to eat before if you so desire. They have a nice lunch menu at the Elks averaging around $10.00 give or take. Please let me know if you are going to come early to help set up. We are still in need of BUNCO prizes, door prizes, and silent auction groupings. If you were not at our August meeting we decided to ask all of our members to paint 3 ornaments for table favors. It does not have to be decorated "Christmas". anything you want is fine. Peggy will NOT be doing a Make it, Take it for our October meeting. Since it falls on our BUNCO day she thought she would reschedule. TBA. (There will be no official October meeting.) It is time to appoint a nominating a committee for the 2017 year. SHARING MEMORIES I am rarely at a loss for words but today I am still speechless. A year ago our BHADA Memory Box Program was struggling to find enough funds to purchase the plain boxes needed for our members to continue painting for this worthy cause. At the August 2016 meeting we were all taken by surprise when two of our members made very generous donations to the program. The following Monday, we received an anonymous cash donation and also a generous check from Queen City Motors. Thank you so very much to Maxiene Vodopich & family, Diane & Roger McNary and Queen City Motors. Your generosity has touched our hearts! These gifts will allow us to continue providing handpainted Memory Boxes to families who have lost babies at birth. My appreciation goes to these friends and all of our members for their generous donations of time, talent and donations to our various fund raisers. Bonnie mailed 30 boxes in August. These went to Illinois, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. More boxes were turned in at the meeting and are awaiting addresses to mail them. Bonnie and Peggy attended a Business Women s lunch in Rapid City. Peggy told the women about our Memory Box Program and Bonnie brought finished boxes to display. The owner of Coffee News has offered us free publicity Romy is writing up this information for her. Peggy will be taking Save the Date cards [Bunco & Memory Box Silent Auction] to share at their next meeting. I will close with a note to all Memory Box Artists from Gloria Falk, Gateway Decorative Artists of Greater St. Louis, MO, who has recently taken on many of the responsibilities of the International Memory Box Program. I hope everyone realizes how important each and every one of you are to this program. Seriously, whether you paint 1 box a month or 30 - each one helps a family that is going through a heart wrenching event in their lives. These memory boxes provide comfort to them, a small way to some and a big way to others. Comfort is what is needed during those difficult times, and these boxes are there for them as long as they want. Happy Painting Pat Fill the Need...Paint a Memory Box

Hello Ladies, I did a count on BUNCO prizes and we have 45 door prizes and 3 silent auction groupings. We need at least 60 door prizes and I would guess at least 7 more silent auction groupings plus we need 5 BUNCO prizes. I would say we are lacking 15 door prizes - 5 Bunco prizes - 7 Silent Auction groupings. Maybe if a couple of gals work together on a silent auction groupings. Usually, we like to put 3-5 items in a grouping that coordinate together. Don't forget we need 60 ornaments for table favors. Hoping each member can make 3. It does not have to be Christmas decor. I truly appreciate all you do for this fundraiser. I am enclosing pictures of the 3 raffles. Also attaching a copy of the flyer with the BUNCO info. on it. Thank you, The BHADA web site and Facebook pages have been updated with the Bunco announcement and pictures. Feel free to share with the world. The links to old newsletters have been checked and all open. Not sure where the specific issues are happening but please advise if your links do not work. Try to refresh when you visit the site to get the updated links. Just an idea. Other than that, I don t get why they don t work for some. Please let me know. We have both Color and B&W copies at the UPS Store at 1430 Haines Ave #108, Rapid City. Jo Ann C. Webmaster
