Herd reduction sale of South Devon Cattle, (mainly pedigree) having purchased a smaller farm the family have given notice on their farm tenancy the family are having to down size the herd. The foundation stock for this herd were sourced from the Woodhayes Herd near Cullompton. The quality of the Woodhayes Herd was recognised in 2004 and 2006 when it won the South Devon National Herd Competition. These genuine Cattle will be offered up as grass fed, no concentrates. Attention to detail has been taken to develop the herd and get the best bloodlines in the herd book through the use of AI, these include Cilgwrrwg Illya, Edmeston Homer 1, Grove Bellerophon 3, Woodhayes Homer 5, Hawkley Javelin. Due to the pressure of moving Farms they bought a Bull this year, and all the Cows have been running with Mutterton Ellis Bitter 2nd. Vacancy at the Holsworthy Livestock Market Receptionist The role: Kivells are looking for a full time Market Receptionist at the busy Holsworthy Livestock Market. The successful candidate will work on reception together with undertaking administration for the agricultural department. Likely duties will include assisting clients both face to face and by telephone, supporting the cattle auctioneer, preparing catalogues for sale, market reports and advertising. The candidate: will be bright, cheerful, willing to help and quick to learn. The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be organised, computer literate and be able to work on their own. A background knowledge in agriculture is an advantage. This is an interesting and varied role requiring a candidate with a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt. Immediate start available. Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.15pm. How to find Hallworthy Stockyard From Launceston Take the A395 towards Wadebridge and North Cornwall off the A30, follow the A395 for approximately 8 miles. As you enter Hallworthy, you will see The Wilsey Down Hotel on your right hand side, take the first right after the Hotel, sign posted for Canworthy Water and Hallworthy Market, the Stockyard is then on your right hand side. From Camelford Follow the A39 towards Bude and take the road that is sign posted for Launceston, which brings you to join the A395, follow this road until you enter the village of Hallworthy, take the left turn, sign posted Canworthy Water and Hallworthy Market, the Stockyard is then on you right hand side.
