ACTIVITY 1 2 s/3 s only Swim Like a Fish Children will swim around the room like fish as they try to pop bubbles. What You Need: Bubble solution Before the Activity: Have the children stand in front of you in an open area of the room. During the Activity: Guide the children to swim around the room like fish and try to pop the bubbles. Tell them to make fish faces with each other. Repeat several times. After the Activity: Sit down together and review the Bible lesson. Before the Activity: Hello, friends! Come over here and spread out a little. During the Activity: We are going to pretend to swim like fish. Can you show me your best fish face? (Pause.) Those are super fish faces! Okay, get ready, little fish! Come swim to the bubbles and try to pop them. (Walk around blowing bubbles.) Pop the bubbles, little fish! (Repeat as many times as desired.) That was fun! Swim over and sit with me. After the Activity: You were the fastest and best bubble-popping fish today! We heard a Bible lesson about catching fish and something AMAZING happened! Jesus did things that we cannot do. The fishermen in our lesson today were not catching ANY fish. They were sad. They really needed to catch fish. Jesus got into their boat and told them to lower their nets into the water. The fishermen had tried and tried before and hadn t caught any fish, but they loved Jesus and did what He said. They lowered the nets and when they brought them up, they were FULL of fish! WOW! Jesus is amazing. He helped the fishermen catch fish. Jesus is AWESOME! He can do anything even things we can t do. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

ACTIVITY 2 2 s/3 s only One Fish, Two Fish! Children will collect all the fish and place them inside the net. What You Need: Plush toy fish, and nets (use the nets made for Activity 3, Jump the Nets ) Before the activity: Place the Hula Hoop shape nets in the center of the room. (See What to Do instructions from Activity 3 on how to make the Hula Hoop shape nets.) Gather the children around you. Count to five and then throw the fish out into the room. Have the children collect all the fish and place them inside the net. Repeat several times. Make it fun by challenging them to collect the fish faster each time. Before the activity: Who can tell me what this is? (Point to fish.) Yes, sir! This is a fish. And what is this? (Pause.) Right again! It s a net. A net helps fishermen collect all their fish. I want you to count to five with me, and then I'll throw all the fish into the room. Then I want you all to go collect all the fish and put them in the nets. Ready? One, two, three, four, five. Go! Wow! You got all the fish into the nets super quick! Let s do that again! One, two, three, four, five. Go! At the end of the activity: You did a great job catching all those fish. I know another person who did a SUPER FANTASTIC job at catching fish. Do you know who it is? (Pause.) Jesus! Jesus can do anything!

What You Need: Painter s tape and 4 Hula Hoops Before the Activity: Place the Hula-Hoops in a row on the floor. Criss cross lines of tape on the floor to make nets inside the Hula-Hoops. Show the children how to jump from one hoop to another while saying parts of the Memory Verse each time they hop to a different hoop. (Keep playing as long as the children are interested.) (Additional option for younger children: Randomly pick 4 children and have 1 child stand inside each net and say their memory verse All together. Keep adding 4 more children until everyone is inside the nets or as space allows.) Hoop 1: With God Hoop 2: All Things Hoop 3: are Possible. Hoop 4: Matthew 19:26 Before the activity: Who can tell me what this is? (Point to a net.) Yes, sir! It s a net. A net helps fishermen collect all their fish. Watch what I can do! (Jumping from hoop to hoop as you say each word of the Memory Verse) With God All Things- are Possible- Matthew 19:26! Can you jump from net to net while saying With God- All Things are Possible Matthew 19:26? Sure you can! (Repeat as many times as desired.) After the Activity: Great job! Our memory verse tells us that Jesus can do things that we can t. He can do ANYTHING. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

The image part with relationship ID rid9 was not found in the file. January Weeks 1 and 2 ACTIVITY 4 4 s/5 s only Full of Fish Children will play with the parachute and shake off the toy plush fish. What You Need: Parachute and plush toy fish. Gather the children around the parachute and gently shake it up and down to resemble water. Review the Bible lesson and add the fish to shake up and down on the parachute. Before the activity: Come gather around and grab an edge of the parachute. We are going to make our parachute look like the lake water from our lesson today. Hold on to the edge, but don t move it yet. During the activity: Now nice and easy, let s shake it up and down. Doesn t that look like water? Now freeze, and hold the parachute super still. I wonder if the water was really still when the fishermen went out fishing and couldn t catch any fish. But Jesus told the fishermen to try again and when he did, their net filled with fish! (Throw the fish onto the parachute and start shaking it.) Shake the parachute with me. Those fish were probably jumping all over the place! Now slowly, holding the parachute, walk into the middle and we will gather up our fish like the fishermen did in his net. (Pause.) Great job, little fishermen! At the end of the activity: Whoa! We caught a lot of fish, just like the fishermen did! The fishermen knew that the reason all the fish got into their net was because of Jesus. Jesus is amazing. He helped the fishermen catch fish. Jesus is AWESOME! He can do anything even things we can t do. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

ACTIVITY 5 4 s/5 s only Going Fishing Relay Children will participate in a relay race where they fill buckets with toy fish. What You Need: (2) Buckets, (2) hula hoops, magnetic Fishing Set including (2) fishing poles and fish, and floor tape Before the activity: Mark two lines on the floor with tape where you will have the starting line. During the activity: Divide the children into two teams and have the children line up single file at one piece of the tape and the other half at the other piece of tape. Set the bucket on the floor at the opposite end and scatter the fish inside the hula hoop at the end closet to the starting point. Give the children a fishing pole to go fishing with and show them how to touch the end of their string, where the magnet is, to the mouth of the fish, where the magnet is. The two will stick together and they can catch a fish! Have the children use the magnetic fishing pole to catch a fish and walk with it to the bucket and place it inside until all of the fish have been caught. Before the activity: How many of you have ever gone fishing? (Pause.) Fishing is fun! Today we re going to go fishing right here in our room! Let me show you how this works. Watch what happens when I put the end of my fishing pole right on the tip of the fish s mouth. Ta-da! I caught a fish! I have a fantastic idea! Let s have a relay race to see who can catch the most fish! During the activity: (Divide the children into the two lines.) I am going to place this bucket at one end of the room and each person gets to add a fish to our bucket. Who thinks they can do this? (Pause.) Good, but remember you must first catch the fish with this fishing pole and not let it drop until you reach the bucket. (Pause.) Are you ready for our game? (Pause.) Great let s GO! At the end of the activity: You caught a lot of fish today just like the fishermen did! The fishermen knew that the reason all the fish got into their net was because of Jesus. Jesus is amazing. He helped the fishermen catch fish. Jesus is AWESOME! He can do anything even things we can t do. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

CRAFT WEEK 1 Tissue Paper Fish Memory Verse What You Need: Fish Activity Pages on white cardstock, different colors of tissue paper, Memory Verse sticker (one per child) and glue sticks. During the activity: Give each child a copy of the Fish Activity Page and colored tissue paper squares. Instruct them to use the glue sticks to spread glue all over the fish. Once they ve finished, allow them to place their tissue pieces any way they wish to design their own fish. Finally, add the Memory Verse sticker to the activity page. Before the activity: God made many different kinds of fish in the sea. Let s make our own fish! We can make a beautiful fish and take it home and tell our families about how Jesus helped the fishermen catch LOTS of fish in our lesson! During the activity: Here is your fish. (Hand out the Fish Activity Page.) We have so many different colors of paper that you can use to decorate your fish. You can use as many pieces as you want in all the different colors. When you are ready, use your glue stick to glue the tissue paper to your fish any way that you would like! At the end of the activity: WOW! Look at all of the different kinds of fish that we have created! Nice job! You can take your fish home and tell your family about today s Bible lesson. You can tell them that Jesus helped the fishermen catch many, many fish. Jesus is amazing. Jesus is AWESOME! He can do anything even things we can t do. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

CRAFT WEEK 2 In the Net What You Need: Net Activity Page on blue cardstock, fishnet material (one 5-inch square per child) and fish stickers During the Activity: Help the children place the net inside the two lines on the Activity Page. Secure the net to the page by placing fish stickers in each corner of the netting. Then have the children place more fish stickers all over the top of the net. Before the Activity: We are going to make a craft to remind us of the AMAZING Bible lesson we heard today. During the Activity: Jesus put MANY fish in the fishermen s nets. We are going to make a picture of a net with LOTS of fish in it. (Do activity.) After the Activity: Great job! Your nets look amazing. They remind us that Jesus can do ANYTHING, like how He helped the fishermen catch A LOT of fish. Who can do anything? Jesus can do anything!

SMALL GROUP Small Group Time What you Need: Parent Take Home Card, Playdoh, Cookie Cutters, Rolling Pins, and Sticker Roll SMALL GROUP LEADER (SGL): It s Small Group time! Since our Bible lesson today was about how Jesus helped His friends catch a lot of fish, let s pretend we re fish swimming to our Small Group spot. Do your mouth like this (make a fish face) and follow me! ( Swim like a fish as you lead the children to your small group spot.) That was fun! You make great little fishies! Now let s sit down so we can talk about our lesson today. One, two, three, sit down with me! In our story today, Jesus helped His friend Peter catch a lot of fish. Peter was AMAZED because he had been fishing all day and didn t even catch one fish. Jesus caught so many fish it almost sunk the boat! That s a lot of fish! Peter learned Jesus can do things we can t. In fact, Jesus can do anything! Who can do anything? CHILDREN and SGL: Jesus can do anything! There are a lot of things we will never be able to do, like I will never be able to fly like a bird, jump to the moon, or have super powers. I want us to make a list of some of the things we can t do. When we pray, we can thank God for giving us a friend like Jesus who can do ANYTHING! So, when I say your name, tell me one thing you can t do. Ok, it s time to review our lesson. I am going to ask you some questions and you will get a sticker for answering them. I have some really cool stickers today. Are you ready? (Pause.) Great! (Ask the children the questions from the Parent Take Home Cards. You can also make up additional questions from our video lesson. Don t forget to ask them to say their memory verse for another sticker. You can repeat the same questions over and over as repetition is good for preschoolers.) You are such great listeners! Now I ll pray before it s time to say goodbye until next week.
