RAJA AMPAT The name - Raja Ampat - comes from local mythology about a woman who finds seven eggs. Four of the seven eggs hatch and become kings that represent four of Raja Ampat s biggest islands whilst the other three turn into a ghost, a woman, and a stone. One of the world s last wild places, amid seas renowned as being the richest on our planet, Raja Ampat is a vast archipelago of tropical island jewels. A nursery and refuge for coral and fish species that are rapidly disappearing from elsewhere in the world, and the perfect place to really get away from it all. Raja Ampat is all about diversity - not just of species, but also of dive sites. There are some areas where sox corals and sea fans dominate, others with amazing diverse hard corals, sea grass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, drop offs, caves, black sand, white sand Then there are the fish - lots of them - in more shapes and sizes than anywhere else in the world. Not only are there loads of fish, but all levels of the food chain are well represented from pygmy seahorses to top predators. In many places brightly colored sox corals can be found close to the surface which, illuminated by natural sunlight, make these dive sites spectacularly colorful. You can also move from cave to cave 2) CAPE KRI: The incredible amount of fish here distracts divers from seeing the fantas4c and colourful coral. Rated as one of the best in RAJA 3) YENBUBA: Schools of giant barracudas and giant groupers. The dive ends under a pontoon with a rich array of life and photogenic scenes 4) MIOSKON: An island inhabited by thousands of Bats, underwater is full of HUGE schools of snappers and large sea fans and wobbegong sharks with chances of seeing sharks and Tuna s 5) MELLISSA S GARDEN: Colours and fish to rival most places in the world with good chances of seeing Pygmies.. 7) ARBOREK ISLAND: A lovely home to locals and a diving surprise with giant clams, banish, schools of humpheads and millions of sardines under the Jedy 8) SARDINES REEF & BLUE MAGIC. Are considered as two of the best dives in the world. Jacks, Grey Reef, black 4p, white 4p sharks and Tunas 9) MANTA SANDY : Just a 15 minute boat ride and you get to see both BLACK and WHITE manta s. Great for snorkelers as the mantas are in very shallow waters. 10) BARRACUDA POINT : As the name suggests hundreds of barracudas as also beau4ful reef and fish. These are just some of the closer dive sites which are among the top 10 in RAJA. Many others such as the passage and dayan islands are, just a short boat ride away.

Bird Watching On an Island just 30 minutes away the red bird of paradise amongst others can be seen Plainemo: Black rock Pinnacles covered with lush vegeta4on this is sight etched in your memory The Passage: An hour away this very unique passage of water lies between GAM and WAIGEO Islands with shallow fast flowing water holding a horde of marine life and biodiversity. Dives are possible here and are Very special. Hidden Bay: This is a lagoon made of canals and islets of shallow water with incredible colours with a cave full of Swallows amongst other birds. Dayan Island: A small Island about 30 minutes boat ride away has a small pearl farm and secluded beaches with waters of incredible shades and hues. Diving here can reward one with unique inhabitants and guests such as blue ribbon eels, Mantas and Mobulas Lago Salato: Just 10 minutes from a resort is a salt water lake which holds sulphurous water with shades of orange and yellow in the shallow top.
