SB 16 FAQ s WHO IS BEHIND THE SUMMER BALL? The SUBU Summer Ball is a fundraising event for the Students Union at Bournemouth University. It is ALL designed and delivered by the staff and students at SUBU. ALL THE PROFITS GO BACK INTO MAKING YOUR STUDENTS UNION EVEN BETTER! @THEOLDFIRESTATION 2-5AM PLEBUM BALL TICKET INCLUDES AFTER PARTY ENTRANCE ARNIVAL DO I NEED TO PRINT OUT MY TICKET? YES YOU MUST print your ticket and bring it with you for the event. Do not rely on your phone for evidence of your ticket. ARE TICKET NUMBERS SECURITY CODED? Yes they are and they will be scanned on entry. Invalid ticket codes and duplicate tickets are easy for us to detect using our scanners and you will be denied entry if you do not possess a valid ticket. IN STAGE DO I NEED TO ORGANISE MY OWN TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE SITE? NO - WE HAVE INCLUDED TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE EVENT IN YOUR TICKET. The Summer Ball buses only run from The Old Fire Station and they begin runs from 4pm. WHEN WILL WE KNOW THE RUNNING ORDER OF ENTERTAINMENTS? Artist stage times online, on Facebook and on posters up around the event. MAKE SURE YOU RE ON THE BEACH BY THE PIER FOR 4.45AM FOR A 5AM PHOTO JUST AS THE SUN RISES WHAT SORT OF PRICES FOR FOOD AND DRINK? We have a big food quarter on the site with a wide variety of street foods to choose from priced from ~ 5-10. SUBU builds and staffs all the bars and most drinks will be in the 3-4 range. WHO S GOING TO LIFT THE ROOF RIGHT OFF THIS YEAR? Back in the nineties, Fresh earned his stripes as part of Bad Company a d n b collective, who rocked your venue TOFS numerous times. These days DJ Fresh is a solid gold dancefloor hits creator and lucky for us we have him headlining. You can expect a dazzling show with hit after hit from Hot right now to his latest tune How love begins (with High Contrast). MAIN STAGE 11.30PM NME have already cited him as one of the 20 hottest producers in music right now and The Guardian have stuck him on their top ten next generation music producers list. He has garnered attention and praise from the music world for his various productions and remixes, including tracks for Florrie and Tinie Tempah (who also happens to be quite the fan). MAIN STAGE 10PM A huge name from your childhood soundtrack is back to rock your Summer Ball! The man (so named because he had a penchant for ice-cream as a baby) will be gearing up to perform the enormous (Chic sampling) Be Faithful amongst others. APPLEBUM+CARNIVAL 9.30PM Sloth's weekday drive time show is the most listened to radio show on BBC Radio 1Xtra and his following is rapidly growing. By night Sloth guests at big clubs across the land and his music mix is a perfect match for the Applebum & Carnival crowd. APPLEBUM+CARNIVAL 11PM Over the last year VANT s live shows provoked chaos across the land with mosh pits and stage invasions exploding wherever they play.vant have played shows with the likes of Royal Blood, festivals such as Reading, The Great Escape and Dot To Dot and they are set for big things this summer. WE BROKE FREE 8.30PM 99 Souls are a UK house duo at the top of their game. x1 jazz kid + x1 hip hop baby who grew up and fell in love with the 4/4 kick drum. Born in the 99% the 99 Souls are lovers of every other genre under the sun and are gonna bring their special sound to Summer Ball 16. & MORE BANDS... FOREVERLAND 11PM WE BROKE FREE PRESENTS......COOSBAY 6PM, AMAZONS 7PM, VANT, 8.30PM All appearing up close and personal on the We Broke Free stage, the perfect soundtrack to sunset and before the sound systems step up a gear. TOP TIPS FOR A GREAT SUMMER BALL 16 #1 MAKE SURE YOU GET IN OK The site opens at 4PM If you don t have a proper ticket YOU WON T GET IN. If you turn up after 11pm YOU WON T GET IN. If you can t prove your 18+ age YOU WON T GET IN. If you re drunk or abusive YOU WON T GET IN. If you have an invalid ticket YOU WON T GET IN. #2 DON T FORGET TO EAT! You ll have a much better night at the ball if you have a good meal early on in the day.
