SWCC Men s Club Board Meeting Minutes February 19, 2015 Members Present: Jim Walton, Mike McAtee, Roger Hawkins, Dave Ryniec, Joe Caccamo, Hank Rullhausen, Ed Stahlberg Members Absent: Tim Hanrahan, Guy Pollak, Alan Beymer, Bob Atchison President s Report: President Jim Walton indicated that in the past month he has sent e-mails to all Men s Club Members relating to important issues and changes, and he will continue to do so in order that Members are fully informed before the start of the new season in April. Jim also said that Bob Reichle will be experimenting with using a computer based system for the Play Day pairings. Bob will be trying to pair golfers with similar indexes on Mondays and for the team pairings on Thursdays based on the ABCD concept. While there is support for trying the new system, most Board Members indicated that it should not result in the same Members playing together each time. It was pointed-out that the current chip system was implemented so Members would have the chance to meet and play with a large number of other Members. Jim asked if there were any changes and/or corrections to the January Board Meeting minutes. There were none, and a motion was made, seconded, and the minutes were approved as submitted. Jim indicated that he had received input on the 2015 Men s Club shirt selection from those Board Members not present, and now would like the recommendations of those Board Members present. Based on the

overall input, it was decided to go with the Windsor Shirt in the light teal color. Jim will be sending out an e-mail to Members so they order shirts. Jim reported that he had made contact with Bret Hart High School for possible scholarships and support for their men s golf team. Jim will work with Mike McAtee with moving this forward. Vice President s Report Vice President Mike McAtee indicated that it was time to get the word-out that the Men s Club is looking for possible recipients for the proceeds from the 2015 Charity Classic. This is in addition to the Bret Hart Men s Golf Team. Also, it was discussed that potential donors of art for the Classic s auction also need to be contacted. Mike will take the lead on these items. Mike reported that he will be making a needed correction to the President s Plaque in the Club Trophy Case. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer Roger Hawkins handed out copies and reviewed with the Board in detail the draft 2015 Budget and monthly update. $200 has been allocated to support food for the Men vs. Women tournament since the Men s Club will be hosting the event this year. The Board Members were asked to do a final review of the draft budget and to be ready to approve it at the March Board meeting. Secretary s Report: Secretary Ed Stahlberg reported that a get well card had been sent to Hank Rullhausen as requested. Ed was asked to send a card to longtime member Jim Dill who is ill.

Membership: It was reported that there are now about 97 Members signed-up for 2015. There will need to be a Members count reconciliation done when the Membership Chairman returns from vacation. Tournament: Tournament Chairman Dave Ryniec led a discussion on hosting the Men Vs. Women tournament this year and it was decided that Men s Club Members participating in the tournament would be required to paid a $5 entry fee to help support the food needed. Also, it was decided that both SWCC women golf groups would be invited this year. Dave also reported that he has been discussing the Iron Man Tournament with Bob Reichle, and Bob has agreed to the three continuous nine (9) holes format. Dave and Bob will be working together on developing a tournament plan. Par/Ringer: Par/Ringer Chairman Alan Beymer had provided Jim with a report that as of Feb. 10 th there are now 47 Members signed-up for the Ringer Board for 2015. This is about normal for this time of year. Handicap: Handicap Chairman Bob Atchison had reported to Jim that he is developing a computer based spreadsheet to track the scores of all Men s Club Members. In doing so he should be able to identify any inconsistencies.

Greens: Greens Chairman Tim Hanrahan had provided Jim with a report that Paul Watt indicated to him that the course was already using water at the July level. Tim s report also included the progress on the new gate value and dredging of the ponds. Hank Rullhausen provided some additional information on the work at the ponds and indicated the new bridge over the first/second hole ponds will begin in mid to late March and take about six weeks weather permitting. Member Liaison: Member Liaison Joe Caccamo reported on the health of long-time Member Jim Dill, and as indicated in the Secretary s report a card will be sent to him. Owner Liaison: Owner Liaison Hank Rullhausen indicated that the Club have and are continuing to spend over $460,000 on course/facilities improvements over the past and current years. He said they are now working on improving the lighting and rest rooms on the second floor of the club house. Hank also mentioned that there are more projects under consideration. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 3:44 p.m. Next Meeting: March 16, 2015 Respectfully submitted, Ed Stahlberg, Men s Club Secretary
