Taking on top seed Nicholls State at the Gold Dome in Shreveport, La., UTA led most of the second half before Nicholls took the lead with less than two minutes left. A 3-pointer by Bill Washington would have tied it, but the shot came after the buzzer, and the Colonels captured an 84-81 victory and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

MEDIAINFORMATION Interviews Head coach Scott Cross can generally be reached in his office on weekdays, from 10 a.m. to noon. Please call Darrin Scheid in the UT Arlington Sports Information Office at (817) 272-5706. Player interviews should be arranged through the UT Arlington SID office as well. The best time to reach coaches and student-athlete at once is before or after practice. The Maverick s practices vary from day-to-day. Please check with the SID Office for practice times. Under no circumstances will a student-athlete s phone number be given to the media. Post-game Procedures Maverick head coach Scott Cross will be made available outside the UT Arlington locker room, after the NCAA-mandated 10-minute cooling off period has been enforced. The UT Arlington locker room is closed to media members at all times. Any player interviews should be coordinated through Darrin Scheid, Assistant Sports Information Director, and will be conducted either in the UTA Media Room at home or outside the UTA locker room on the road. UTA Radio A select number of Maverick basketball games will be broadcast on UTA Radio. David Mannering is in his second season with UT Arlington and has play-by-play duties.
