BRITISH EVENTING IS THE NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY FOR THE SPORT IN GREAT BRITAIN Eventing is a unique combination of dressage, cross country and show jumping in one exciting activity. It s a sport that engages all ages and has equal opportunities to compete. British Eventing regulate as well as schedule more than 180 events throughout Britain that cater for nearly 94,000 entries per season (Mar-Oct). British Eventing has more than 15,500 members and provides opportunities for riders from grassroots to those performing at international level. To deliver the sport on a national basis to the highest standard, British Eventing train hundreds of volunteers, officials, riders and technical support teams. The result is that the UK has successful European medal winning teams at Pony, Junior, Young Rider and Senior level. British Eventing s Under 18 programme encourages and develops young riders in a safe and structured way through training, education and competition. The pinnacle of the Under 18 programme is the Open Novice Under 18 Championships, held at Frickley Park, South Yorkshire in July. Under 18 riders qualify for the prestigious Championships at 50 qualifying events held across eight regions. They have the opportunity to compete both as individuals and as part of a team and for many a place at the Championships is their ultimate goal. THE CHAMPIONSHIPS The Championships will be held at Frickley Park in South Yorkshire in July and sponsors will be welcomed to work closely with the enthusiastic and experienced organising team. Frickley Park is a stunning host location and the venue is also easily accessible for competitors travelling from all around the country. The Frickley team are adding a Captain Mark Phillips designed one star track in addition to on site temporary stabling and impressive spectator facilities in order to ensure a top class showcase event.
