How to Draw a Pikachu Easy Fast The Pokémon franchise has been popular among children, teenagers, and even adults for over two decades, beginning with the release of the first Pokémon video game in 1996, and the television series in 1997. Today, with new technologies such as the Pokémon Go! app for tablets and smartphones, the characters have retained their immense popularity. Pikachu is perhaps everyone's favorite character. Pikachu is an electric mouse Pokémon, capable of blasting lighting from his cheeks. He, along with his trainer, Ash Ketchum, is the star of the movies and television show. Would you like to draw your very own Pikachu? Now you can, using this easy, step-by-step drawing tutorial. All you will need is paper and a writing implement, such as a pencil, pen, or marker. You may also want to gather crayons, colored pencils, or markers to color your finished drawing. Each step in the drawing guide is accompanied by an illustration. The new marks in each step are highlighted in blue. Draw your lines lightly at first, as you will need to erase some of your original lines as you complete your sketch. Are you ready to begin your very own Pokémon adventure? Pikachu, I choose you!

Step-by-step Instructions for Drawing a Pikachu Begin by drawing a curved line. This line will be the top of Pikachu's head. Extend a line downwards from each side of your first line. Curve the lines outward slightly. Connect the two lines with a curved line. The result will resemble an irregular circle. Draw the body using one long, curved line. This line will attach to each side of the bottom of the irregular circle.

Draw a curved line at the bottom of the body, within the shape. Erase the guide line from the bottom of the shape. Draw Pikachu's arms. For the left arm, draw an oval overlapping both the body and head. For the right arm, draw a curved line extending from the head to the middle of the body. To form the feet, draw an open oval extending from each side of the lower body.

Detail the feet with toes, drawing two slightly curved lines at the tip of each foot. Next, add fingers to Pikachu's hands. At the end of each hand, draw a zigzag line. Erase the guide lines from within the bounds of the arms, hands, and feet. Draw Pikachu's right ear using two curved lines. The lines will extend up from the right side of the head, ending in a point.

Draw Pikachu's left ear tilted to the side. The ear will consist of two curved lines, extending up and to the left, from the left side of the head. The ear will end in a point. Draw a curved, slanted line near the top of each ear. Draw an oval on each cheek. To form the tail, draw a zigzag pattern consisting of five lines. The lines nearer the body will be shorter, increasing in length as they near the end of the tail. Draw a similar zigzag line below the first. The lines should be closer together near the base of the tail, farther apart towards the end.

Connect the two lines of the tail with a straight line at the tip. Now, you will draw the face. Draw a circle for each eye above the cheeks. For the mouth, draw a very loose "W" in the middle of the face. Connect a large "U" shaped line to the bottom of the "W." Add some more detail to your drawing. Draw a smaller circle at the top of each eye to form the pupil. For the nose, place a dot above the center of the "W." Form a tongue inside the mouth using a slightly curved line. Add a horizontal zigzag pattern to the base of the tail. Finally, color your Pikachu. Pikachu is typically bright yellow with black ear tips, red cheeks, a pink tongue, and brown at the base of his tail.
