Tryouts will begin on Monday, August 15 th. Lampeter-Strasburg HS Girls Soccer Monday August 15 th 7:30-9:00 am meet at the track, and 5-7 pm meet at the JV field. Tuesday August 16 th 8-9:00 am meet at the track, and 5-7 pm meet at the JV field. Wednesday August 17 th 8-9:00 am meet at the track, and 5-7 pm meet at the JV field. Thursday August 18 th - 5:00-7:00 pm. Meet at the JV Field. Tryout Expectations (These are not requirements to make either squad, merely guidelines for you to consider) Cooper Run: 1.5 mile run to be complete in 11:50- this is a 7 minute and 55 second mile 120 s: Running the length of the soccer field 15 times. You have 22 seconds to run the length of the field with a 1 minute recovery time between each interval. Shuttle Run Juggling: It is expected that each player reach 50 consecutive juggles Timed Dribbling through cones Push Ups and Sit Ups in a Minute Suggested Summer Fitness Program Monday- Wednesday- Friday Warm up 10 minute jog to warm up. 4 sets of 5 40 yard sprints (recovering in jog back to start point) 1 minute rest between each set of 5. 12 intervals of 20-15-10 yard sprints. Example: out to 20 and back, out to 15 and back, out to 10 and back =1 interval. Recovery is 30-40 seconds between each interval. Make sure to side step, and back pedal Weight room 1 day of your choice. Stretch after completion. Tuesday and Thursday Warm up 2 mile run after 2 mile run take an 8 minute break then 5 / 100 yard sprints recovery is jog back to beginning of sprint. After which you will do 5 sets of 50 crunches, 50 push-ups and 30 lunges. Weight room 1 day of your choice. Stretch after completion.

Lampeter-Strasburg High School Girls Fall 2016 Soccer Rules and Expectations 1. You are a student athlete. The most important thing is that you get an education. Any player not meeting the school's educational requirements will be subject to reduced playing time and even suspension. a. Players who are academically ineligible for the first week will not be allowed to play in games, but can still practice, and can't leave school early for away games. b. Players who are academically ineligible for a second week will not be allowed to participate in games or practice. c. Players who are academically ineligible for a third week are subject to removal from the team. 2. Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking - Any individual participating in interscholastic activities or extracurricular activities who attempts to purchase or is involved in the possession, use or consumption of illegal and/or dangerous drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products during the season will be suspended from further participation for the remainder of the season. 3. Respect is a major part of playing and enjoying soccer. Respect will be given to all members of our team, Coaching staff, opposing teams, opposing teams coaching staffs, and officials. a. Anyone heard using foul or demeaning language during a game, practice, or team activity will result in loss of playing time. Length will be determined by coaching staff. b. During games the only person's to address the officials, are captains and members of the coaching staff. Officials make mistakes the same as we do. Players/Parents should not complain about calls or debate with officials. c. Fighting within the team with team members will not be tolerated. Please bring all issues to the coaching staff so that the problems can be rectified. d. If deemed necessary. The coaching staff can remove any individual or individuals who are deemed negative influences on other teammates or the program. e. Any player suspended from school or receives detention is subject to further punishment from the coaching staff. f. All forms of bullying, cyber bullying, discrimination, hazing, and harassment are prohibited. Anyone who engages in any of the aforementioned prohibited behavior is in violation of the schools policy and is subject to appropriate discipline. 4. All members of the team are expected to attend all practices, games, and activities. If a player is absent from a practice, game, or activity that is not excused by the coaching staff. Can result in a loss of playing time. a. A player who does not practice the day before a game is subject to a loss of playing time. 1.) Absence from school/practice the day prior to a game: a.) illness- subject to loss in playing time in 1 st half b.) school event related to academics- no penalty c.) school event related to extra-curricular- subject to loss in playing time
d.) family emergency- no penalty e.) family vacation/leisure- subject to loss in playing time b. Always make sure that the coaching staff knows where you are. Telling a friend to tell us is not acceptable. Be responsible and email, call, or tell us the day before you will be absent the next day. Sending an email is a paper trail always worth having!!!!! c. Doctors excuses, getting help with school work, and family emergencies will be the only excuses accepted. 5. Per the school policy, in order for students to participate in or attend school activities during the week, they must be in attendance the "full school day." For purposes of extracurricular activities, a "full school day" shall mean being in attendance no later than 30 minutes (8:05 am) after the beginning of the school day. After this period of time, only early dismissals, late admits with proper medical slips, or school officials approved absences (ie. college visit) will be honored for participation or attendance at after school activities. Athletes arriving after 8:05 am during their season must have a proper medical slip to be able to participate in daily practices or contests. A parent note stating they were feeling ill that morning will not suffice. 6. School "dress code" applies in that no tank tops or camisoles are permitted as practice clothing. They can be worn under t-shirts or jerseys. (Players are not to change on the field. Unless they are wearing a tank top or camisole underneath there t-shirt/ jersey.) Shorts have to be finger length or longer. If not spandex is to be worn underneath. 7. Each player will be held responsible for her uniform. All parts will be returned in good shape at the end of the season. 8. All players are expected to bring all their equipment each day to practice. Equipment includes all clothing needed for indoor and outdoor practices. Including the following: NOSCAE Shin guards that are properly fitted. Uniforms, and proper shoes for indoor and outdoor use (cleat and sneakers). 9. While traveling, players are reminded that they are representing their families, school district, and team. They will behave in an appropriate manner, and follow all school guidelines for conduct. 10. While on the bus, players will behave accordingly. Players are prohibited from yelling or talking to people outside the bus. All appendages will remain inside the bus, all players will be in a seat, and the bus will be clean before everyone leaves to go home. Any player not riding the bus home from an activity, will provide her coach with a written note from her parent. Notes must be signed and dated. a.) Notes will only be accepted the day prior to a game. Notes will not be accepted or honored if handed to coaching staff post game unless an emergency is noted. 11.) Communication: Communication is an important within a team. It is expected that all communication related to practices and games remain between players and coaches. If an issue arises it is expected that a player brings it to her coach first. If there is no resolve after a player-coach conversation then parents will have an opportunity to meet in a parent-player-coach meeting. If concerns persist a meeting with the athletic director- coach- player-parent will occur.
